I say go for the circuit club day. The main reason for it is that you can make use of the driver trainer, and that will teach you a lot about the track and your car.

If your interested, i'm actually selling my spot for this day as i can't make it anymore due to other commitments.

                                First ever trackday!!

I attended the circuitclub trackday today - what an experience!!
Anyways i rocked up early at 730am to do the track walk with Jeff (forgot his last name). Showed us all the lines, what to watch out for etc. First passenger session, my mate was in the car filming and i was all over the place, skidding non stop :P (spun out once at the fish hook)..for the next timed session i got jeff in my car and what a difference that made. He forst drove my car for a few laps so that he can pick the lines and braking points according to car and then i took over with him instructing. I went from a 1:37 to 1:19 by my 2nd timed session. When my mate got in for the 2nd passenger session he notcied a massive improvement as well (will upload all the pics and vids soon). I didnt get much of a 3rd timed session though - refer below

                                Bad news
on my last timed session, i was following 3 fords/holdens into the kink and 1st corner. However they braked at the kink and all the way to the 1st corner where as i only brake just before the 1st corner (throttle off at the kink). In order to avoid ramming into them, I slammed on the brakes and managed to stop but suddenly all pressure in the pedal dissapeared. I assumed coz the brakes had overheated so i drove on allowing the brakes to cool and by the time i got to fish hook I had no brakes at all so went clean off the track ..i then drove into the pits..and noticed my brakes were steaming so drove up and down the street a couple of times to cool it and then back and noticed brake fluid all over the front passenger wheel, checked the calliper nuts ..all fine so topped up brake fluid and drove back to syd with basicall no brakes (engine braking and handbrakes all the way)..come home and i find out my brakeline is busted (sprays brake fluid mist)..i though braided lines were supposed to not do this!!..anyways so i now i gotta get myself a new one (might call up jdmyard and see if they offer a guarantee coz the goodridge box says lifetime guarantee?)

other things i have to change: loosen the rear swaybar (everyone following my car noticed how tail happy my car was :P), get new front pads for honda nats (happy with mx72 so might get those again), rotate tyres and baffled sump (too risky without it)

All in all it was a good experience if not for the busted brake line and def looking fwd to honda nats to further improve my lap time..my aim is 1:15-17. I definitely recommend a circuitclub event for any other track noobs out there, even the pros can learn from the instructors i guess.
