finally washed the car and waxed it in prep for the ozhonda meet..meguiars gold class wax is pretty awesom i must say..resulting in comments like these:
fitted my brakes yday at ismr..will let u guys know how it goes after driving for a while..planning getiing my pci bearing fitted at heasmans and lowering and aligment all at once..hopefully in the next few weeks.
Went to heasmans today to fit my pci bearings, lower my car and get an alignment
As you guys can see from the alignments results..the bearings increased castor quite a bit. I also "half" lowered my car..I asked to lower abt 1-1.5 inches but apparantly the front was 1 inch higer than the back so only front got lowered. Sits nicely now
A couple of issue...I could only get -1.3ish camber at the back..the skunk2 camber arms had no thread to give. This wasnt a major issue for me...
However the front is where it all gets weird...I could only get -1.25 camber..the issue being if he increase any camber any further...the toe out would increase dramatically which isnt safe and he said he wouldnt let me do it anyway. the stock tie rods had no more thread to give. Best option is buy another pair of stock tie rods and get it shortened by heasmans ($130 a side for the labour)..If anyone else has this same problem and need another pair of tie rods..let me know..I was thinking of gettng a pair from oemacuraparts!...He said he had done it before for a dc5r...and to forget abt inverted tie rods coz they create too much bump steer and is extremely unsafe epspec on the track. Hope to get this fixed by June.
Regarding heasmans..I can see why everyone loves them..true experts and they really take care in what they do..the guys even repainted by control arms when took it out Cost of all the labour (change bearings, lower and align =370...if only align = 130)..I think the costs are reasonable because im sure any other wheel alignment place wouldnt have cared abt my stupid and unsafe alignments.
Cant really give any reviews abt the bearings coz all I did was drive home..however Im beginning to love my new brakes..so much better thn my old EBCs. Just need to get over the brake squeal when cold.
Will post pics up of my ride height soon!...already having issues though..my front lip scrapes on my driveway so now I have to drive over the grass on the sides to get my car out :P
Good work prash. The issue with the tie rods being too long is common as you say. I had an engineering shop do my old tie rods for $75 for the pair. I took them out of the car myself though I guess, also you could look at getting Todd's tie rods from the US (refer THIS thread). They are my fourth set of tie rods and I don't think I will ever change them.
The price for the install and alignment is good though! It took me hours and hours and I still haven't got an alignment.

Yeah plaything/alex wanted to get em as well...do you know how much shorter than oem they are?..would i be able to get my -2.5 camber without having toe issues?
regarding the tie rods..oemacuraparts sells the inner tie rods for 100 shipped for a pair + 130/side labour from heasmans = 360 (modified and fitted)....im assuming this is all i need?
OR....buy from todd for 255 a set and fit..but im sure the labour cost to fit the tie rods will make the total more than 360?..
Im more inclined towards the 1st option as I feel it might be cheaper and I am guaranteed that it is an orginal honda part...Opinions?

They are massively adjustable, you will have no trouble getting the toe correct with your desired -2.5° camber setting. I didn't measure the full range but I am sure they will adjust to ±30mm the length of the OEM inner tie rods. Possibly more. The Todd's items have the advantage that you won't have to pull them out if you change your suspension configuration significantly or go back to stock. I can't fault the quality of the Todd's items and I wish I had made something similar myself instead of buying J's Racing ones as well as modifying my own.
So that price from Heasmans was to remove, modify and refit one tie rod?

i just asked asked the guy how much it would cost and he said 130/side..i assumed it was to remove old tie rods..modify new ones and fit...
