Of course you're still welcome at the meets in your Astra. As long as it has a ClubITR sticker on it and you wear your shirt. Ok just kidding about the shirt.
Sold the car today. Has to be one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life and also the saddest. Just thinking about the effort, time and money I spent into the car and having to see it go away brings a tear to my eye. The journey from stock to what it is now, was a long and painful one but rewarding nonetheless.
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me through this process with invaluable advice. Especially the DC5 experts (Stevan, Alex and Tom(chargeR)). Your comments/criticisms/suggestions are what made the car what it is today. A big shoutout to Felix for transforming clubitr to what it is today (a recognisable brand). I remember my first meet that I attended that Stevan organised (was literally only a handful of cars) and then u compare it to the turnout at the monthly meets, not to mention the forum activity, number of members and clubitr's social media reach. Also thanks to the whole community for making this happen. I have certainly made lifelong friends here.
I know the car has gone to a good home, a true honda enthusiast. The guy flew into sydney, stayed overnight and is driving it back right now actually. He is on clubitr as well, so I am sure u will see an intro thread soon from him.
Melb peeps, keep your eyes peeled on the road. Another one is about to be added to your epic DC5 collection
As for my next "project"..well you'll just have to wait and see..I'll post updates here once that commences.
To those that are worried that is going to be my last post on clubitr...dont be. I am not going to be a regular at meets anymore and my forum activity may decline a bit but I will still be here..I will try and rock up to meets in my astra if I am still welcome
I know..I was polishing the car on the weekend and got all teary eyed. And while I was writing up that thread at work, just kep reminiscing about all the good times in it. Very emotional moment
I just cant justify the car sitting in my garage anymore. Also think it's time for a change and move on. Just dont have the time for it with full-time work.
Sounds like you need to be more aggressive in the car. LOL
Can't believe you vomited
Also what did I read about you two wheeling?
LOL..it was just so unexpected..such a mellow guy and then its as if he flicks a switch when he's on the track
Oh and the two wheeling..lets just say i hit the kerb a bit too aggressively...this was during the passenger session as well...managed to stop the car from spinning out though..only went off the track slightly twice the whole day..its a shame that phil and his mate who were behind me stopped recording just before this happened lol..Car's all good though
