So today i carried out some post track day check overs and also attempted to figure out my little electrical gremlin...

Pulled my re30's off to preserve my ad08's as ill be taking a break from the track until early next year, as i was doing that i noticed my dixcel rotors have seen better days lol, there are meant to be vents in them...

Then after a wash i needed to look at this problem...

So this is my problem, Go for a normal drive everything is fine, Now if i take the car for a thrash and drag the revs out to the limiter my rpm counter goes to 0 and the cluster lights dim slightly and volts drop down to 12 like the alternator shuts off and it stays like that until i shut the car off and wait a bit then start it again. You can actually see this occur for only a moment in my SMSP video at around 3:46, you just see the rev counter go from around 5000rpm down to 0 then back up.
    Oh the joys...
Battery tested OK but i charged it anyway, alternator tested OK, checked all grounds...all OK, continuity through battery to alternator wires all OK, continuity in ground wires all OK, belt is tight, alternator power wire bolt is tight.
I'm thinking it has something to do with engine movement as i'm still on the stock mounts with twice the power, on power maybe something is earthing out. Bit of a head scratcher...

Edit: got the problem sorted, turns out i missed one of the fuses under the dash during my check, blown alternating current fuse..

The other day i received some of Phillip Russo aka Flippit aka s15 boy's Smooth As Detailing micro fibre clothes so i put them to work with a quick polish..

Then i got to installing my new AEM uego wide band air/fuel ratio gauge

I moved a couple things around to place the gauge where i liked it, the defi oil temp gauge will be gone soon as i can read oil temp on the defi display anyway.
The AEM gauge is reading a RON stoichiometric ratio in the photo because i haven't installed the wide band sensor yet, i will need to get the bung welded into the exhaust one day next week.

How good is the advance ZD in front of the cluster. Perfectly fits just below the tacho with all info front and centre. It's like it was meant to be mounted there!

Fyi: I run speedo, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp and clock through it at all times in this position

yeah it's a good position, even the lighting is the same colour lol It's a good unit but unfortunately it doesn't have lap timing! so ill be selling up soon for a unit with a gps lap timer and all temp and pressure displays.

It blends in and looks stock almost hey! That's why I love it!

Yes it's a shame no lap timing goes though it but I have a lap timing unit I use and run through the power adapter I have mounted in the centre console.

I remember Byp posting some lap timer/data logger/gauge system a while back. I'm assuming you're going with that?

I have considered a separate timer like you have and it's probably a much cheaper option.

I have seen that unit running in byp's cars and it looks pretty awesome so i might go with one of those but we'll see when the time comes.

2014 has been a massive year for my S, from purchasing it late february stock as a rock to what it has become today. It has been awesome to look back at photos in my thread and know that all the work has been carried out with my own hands with the help of more experienced brains to make sure i only do things once and do them right, my biggest thanks are to BYP for that.

2015 promises to be an even bigger year on the track side of things, I will be looking to get a little more competitive on the track starting by repping team Honda at the Nulon nationals, then if all goes well NSW time attack and even world time attack could be on the cards definitely with more parts thrown at the car during the course of the year.
Exciting times to come, check out the cars progression in photo's...

Spotted you over the weekend from the city and was driving with you for a bit. Wanted to shout out but you turned left at that intersection. I was in the EP3. Your car sounds great!

                        Thanks man

While the threads bumped i thought i might share some photo's from the Incar Racing dyno day the other weekend, taken by ol' mate Flippit.

The car only pulled 292wkw on the day probably because it was hot and also the runs were done in 4th where they should have been done in 5th for max load to avoid wheel spin at the top end, oh well overall it was a good day with some nice cars, and i got some nice comments from the older crowed about the little Honda lol.

After that i rolled through the JDMyard meet for a little geeze and got snapped by a couple cameras

Looking awesome. I can see why the car scrubs so much at the track!

Thanks Peter! lol yeah the rear is pretty bad although it only scrubs the tyre wall slightly, sounds worse then it is.

As some may know today kicked off the Nulon nationals for 2015 and we began with a wet skid pan motorkhana event.
I entered with the Honda Owners Club which consisted of 5 cars, my s2k, an FD1 k24/k20, EK k24/k20, EG k24/k20 and a rwd sr20 EG.

We ran 7 different courses throughout the day each getting more and more difficult. We started out the day doing quite well coming 4th out of the 10 groups but as the day went on and the courses got tighter we managed to secure 7th spot however we feel that we can easily make up the points at the hill climb and especially at wakefield in round 3. Overall it was a fun day and it was good to try something different.

Heres a video of one of my cleaner runs..

Great driving man, that looks like a lot of fun. Poor differential, haha.

How's the car holding up in terms of temperatures with the tracking, etc by the way?

Look forward to seeing how you go with Wakefield.
