For those that know my car/myself in person, know that I am an absolute Kseries fiend. I adore these motors.

Just after last Xmas I decided to buy myself a present. A 93's Breeze EG. D13 carby goodness. I got it cheap, and its in excellent condition for the fact it's two decades old.





The original plan was to daily this thing, so that I could take my pride and joy, my Integra off the road, give it a rest, a little TLC. I wanted a daily so I could be able to do cool stuff to the teg...

Literally the same week I bought the EG home, this Type S popped up locally on facebook.





Upon inspecting the car, and seeing the condition of the motor, I made a massively impulsive decision and bought it

So got it towed to the shed, and began pulling it apart straight away









2hrs later had the motor out

Got a few mates over, and we spent a day stripping the DC5 back to a bare shell

So that is where i'm up to with this project. The EG was supposed to be my daily, but's those plans changed and this K20z1 is going into the civic lol.

I have a fairly conservative budget for this swap, compared to first Kswap in my DC2. I plan to re use as much oem parts from the Type S as I can, aswell as sell as many spare parts from it as I can to offset the cost for the swap parts.

I kind of shot myself in the foot buying a carby EG, as it just means a lot of extra work converting it to EFI. But I guess that's the price I pay for picking up bargains lol

Found a EH sedan parting on Gumtree, so went and grabbed the fuel tank



Gave it a good scrub



Also gave the K20 a little bit of a spruce up, a little bit of degreaser and an old rag go a long way







Also picked up an entire EFI EG harness, from headlights to brakelights

I find it more scary haha. This EG turned up right when I started looking for one, and then almost straight after this Type S popped up. Maybe it's fate, maybe i'm one of those people who was never supposed to experience financial stability? haha

The powerhouse. I definitely still do plan on getting my 5bucks worth from this, I want to daily it for a little bit before I get serious with it and pull the motor out for the swap



At this point, i'm thinking to myself 'what have I got myself into?'



Picked up some EFI hardlines from the wreckers







Picked up a fuel rail too



Aswell as a new cluster with a tacho



Swapped the clusters over



Swapped the faces between the two so that the original mileage stays with the chassis



I now have RPM's

Cleaned up the shed, after parting the Type S there was a whole load of parts as well as junk left over. So spent a few hours tidying everything up.

Manifold testing anyone?





I'll be reusing the oem 36mm shafts, along with a set of Karcepts 36mm hubs



To get as-close-to optimal shaft length for use in a swap chassis, the inners need to be swapper between the two shafts. Drivers side shaft now becomes the passenger side shaft vice versa











All done. Literally takes 3 minutes to swap the cups. Just cut the band, pull the cup off (without spilling the packing grease everywhere lol) and pop it onto the opposing shaft. Easy.

Cleaned up the motor a little more



And that's quiet literally where i'm up to. Should have a nice update possibly tomorrow, definitely before the end of the week atleast. Thanks!
