Street/Track EG - The build by Foy.

Hey guys, I know a few of you on here but i've never really posted anything relating to my civic on here. Whilst I know this is "CITR" I figure a few people might be interested in it. I'll probably skip a lot of the smaller things so forgive me if it seems the story skips along a bit, it's been a while in the works.

It all started in october 2011, I had made the decision to but a weekend car that I could race with the boys (ffamily). The base was simple, a civic. So I went looking and a few days later I found the perfect base.

A 91 Eg civic with a b16 swap and carbon bonnet and fujitsubo catback. I bit the bullet and purchased the car, 10 hours later my friend Alex and I had road tripped from rockhampton to brisbane and I was now the owner of a civic!

First thing I did was buy the essentials and fit some parts I already had from my dc2.
Bushes, koyo radiator and suspension parts, Baffled sump + 5zigen headers+ highflow cat, MFactory Coilovers, 282 itr setup (dba4000 rotors and endless mx72 pads) AND 949 6UL wheels wrapped in Federal RSR's.

Got everything in and had a month to drive around till my first track day. The day finally came and I was out with my buddy Ash (egb055) in his k20EG. This is the moment that it all began, one you go track you never go back :P

Soon after that day i was hooked! And went out to lakeside raceway for some fun!

After that I bought myself a full cage and made myself a splitter!

Added an oil cooler, catch can, 4.9 final drive and ATS carbon lsd (dont have pics of lsd and FD install)

And spent the rest of the year racing as much as I could

By now we are up to late 2012 and i've decided it was time to tidy up the car (paint wasnt the best when I got it and it had faded across the year. So full respray inside and out was done!

I also was worried about all the 6ul's breaking so I switched to the JDMYard buddy club specials (thanks again yonas!)

OH and I bought a j's wing (no pics at the time though)

And to add to the increasing bill I figured I may aswell build a new motor for the new year...

    Specs are;
    B16b block/head
    B18cR Crank
    Ek9 cams/gears and valves
    Supertech Valve springs and retainers
81.5mm 11:1 Cp pistons and Eagle Rods
    Acl Race bearings
    Arp Headstuds
    New oil pump, etc.
    Orc Clutch

It is essentially a forged stock b18cr.

Got the car tuned (made 164hp) and was driving home when all of a sudden steering got really heavy, felt like the wheel were locked. Dropped the gearbox oil when I got home and bam, metal. So we pulled it out next day and..bam! So I ordered a mfactory helical lsd and threw it all back together (luckily because the diff was a clutch type all the exploded internals were contained and nothing else got damaged!

FINALLY it was running perfectly and I took her out for her first big decent drive, this is how she was sitting in street spec.

And a bit of a before and after shot across one year of progress, I smashed my old pb with the b16 (61.6 sprint) with a 59.6 with the b18cr that day!

Went out to the drags to see how it performs and I was pretty stoked with the mph and time! Was never expecting much out of it with the huge camber!

I swapped the tyres from 205/50/15 a048's to 225/50/15 a050's and I dropped another second off my pb to a 58.6 QR Sprint and 62.4 Clubman! Finally doing kswap times in it =)

Went out to lakeside and after wasting 2 sessions behind a douche bag in a v8 gemini I got one clean session and did a 62.00, still plenty of time to be gained as I had no ideas what gears i'd need to be using.
