Soo, ups and downs. After pulling the B20 apart, honing it and cleaning it, waiting for the rings and installing them on the pistons, i had a little set back, while installing the pistons, the top oil ring spacer on cyl/piston 1 caught the block and created a good inch and a half long gouge down the cylinder, not pretty. Was pretty stuck on what to do, bore it/new pistons? sleeve it? not sure.. decided it wasnt really a good option financially to do all of that, so..

    Bit of an update;

bought a new b20 (no pics)

Slapped my vtec head on it and finished the motor with the help of some experienced friends.

    Got clutch/transmission on

    and dropped it in

    things currently acquired/installed
    Edelbrock adjustable cam gears
    Gates Racing timing belt
    Moroso baffled sump
    OEM Headgasket (3 layer)
    Golden Eagle VTEC Conversion Kit
    Walbro fuel pump (uninstalled)
    Kenwood 10" 255watt sub (uninstalled)

Waiting for: Intake Manifold gasket and throttle body gasket, both are waiting for me at Honda in town. Was going to go with Hondata intake mani gasket but there was no stock left at the place i was getting it from.
Have picked up fluids: Castrol magnatec 10w40
    Castrol VMX80 Manual Transmission Fluid
    Castrol Power Steering Fluid
Nulon Ultra Cool Engine Coolent/Radiator Flush
2x Penrite Racing 300c Brake Fluid

Gotta get some new split pins for the castle nuts aswel. All is well, and going well. Excited to get it on the road, miss hearing my Mugen..

So as soon as I switched the car on, it started pissing out oil from the bottom. I thought it was the sump, so i changed the gasket over and cleaned everything up but it kept leaking. Kept looking and eventually found a crack in the cast alloy of the block at the oil pressure switch (probably cracked due to being over tightened), so pulled the motor out and stripped it again.
        Crack welded up:

Bought a whole B16A2 motor as I plan on using the head, the motor had been recondition (all new seals and gaskets) so I've got lots of parts to use. and as a bonus it came with vision motor works cam gears.

        Cleaned up my intake manifold:

        Sprayed it:

        Painted rear Y bracket:

        And 2x Engine mounts:

        Began stripping the block.
Pistons/Rods and crank out as well as everything off the block.

        cleaned the sump mating surface:

        Cleaned the crankcase:

Decided i want to do it once and do it right, so I've ordered some Manley H beam forged connecting rods and some RS Machine 84MM Cast Pistons.

Also picked up some 15x7 Wedsport SA90s uber cheap on some Potenza RE001s and some MG Spec Blue wheels nuts for free from a friend of mine.
Lowered the front 15mm and then slapped it all on. Can say im stoked with how it turned out.

            Update!

Decided to stick with OEM internals and cancel the rods/pistons.
Sprayed the block, honed the cylinders and edged everything.

Sprayed the head and slapped it together.
Sprayed the engine cover in Sunlight Yellow (Spoon yellow!)

            Got everything together!

            |

Cleaned and sprayed the transmission and my mounts

            All together!

I ceramic coated the top half of the headers cause the brown just looked bad against the fresh motor.

            Dropped in!

Grabbed some hardrace engine mounts too for cheap.
Ordered a Tegiwa carbon intake, was jumping around when it arrived.

            Carbon goodness

            looks awesome in the bay

Thanks boys! I got it started today, its hunting and ticking like crazy, guessing due to incorrect valve lash and bad spark so getting onto that.

                      Top shot. Bay looking good!

Got about 250km on the engine now, drove my car with a friends ECU which is tuned for B20/B16 combo and all I can say is Wow! So fast/torquey and responsive. Felt a lot more stable when I was cornering too since it was so much smoother. Loving the car even more now and super excited to drop it in for the tune!

Badish news. My bottom rad hose blew off from my thermostat and dumped all of my coolant, which caused me to overheat and blow a head gasket. Fortunately theres no coolant in my oil, but I am leaking milky coolant. I've ordered a new golden eagle head gasket and some ARP head studs to replace the OEM bolts, should be back on the road in no time.
