    DC2-VTIR, Learning Experience

    Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum, I've always loved cars but never got to experience anything first hand, I'm turning 18 in June so I'm currently in the market for my dream car, a DC5R, wanting to just share my experiences with my brothers new car and hoping to learn a lot from it before I get my DC5R, a 99 DC2 VTIR

(This is how it looked when we first got it)

The car was in fairly good nick and came with lots of goodies

First wash! And boy did it need one!

There were some main parts of the car that we wanted to change straight away, but we couldn't just yet, first step was to get a roadworthy.
Some little things that were done in the to the car since we bought it are
Replica Mugen Front Lip (Only temporary)

    Install Type R spoiler

Next to get rid of the OG Wheels and Replaced them with these

They popped up just in time and at a very cheap price! Very rare and hard to find with this size.
    SSR TYPE C's 4x100
Only problem was that 3 of the rims were 16x7 +30
    But 1 was 16x8 +45
I was unsure at first but talked to a couple of mates and they said it would be alright.

We were able to get a roadworthy without problems so now the modding begins!

Next up we needed tyres for the ssr's.
My brother and I were still very new to the whole tyres thing so we got the opinion of our local tyre place and they said in order for all wheels to look the same and run properly we should go with 205/50/r16.
We went with it and turns out the tyres were a bit thick for our liking

We also had a problem with the 8" wheel fiting in the rear, it was rubbing on the trailing arm, but we ended up getting a spacer and now all 4 corners sit pretty flush!

We also recently got some mugen pedals

That's it for now, stay tuned for new mods coming

Little update from today, gave the car a wash and tried some polish for the first time ever!
            Before

            After

We were seeing results like this throughout the car, all the little marks that we thought were there for good just wiped away, was truly amazed!
Sorry I didn't take more photos, hands were pretty dirty haha..

Some big updates that have improved the interior completely!
              Before

              After

Red door trim, was pretty easy to install, would go nicely with some red recaros (to come soon)

Also we've had a 96 spec ITR Steering wheel lying around waiting to be installed.
              Before

              After

Looks so much better, I hated the look of the stock steering wheel so much, this is quite smaller and feels so good.

Also got a set of McGard wheel nuts

nice. very nice. question did you run differ spaces for the different offset of the wheels. And how well did the 205/50/16 fit on the 8" rim?

I also recon keep the front lip. but repray it championship white so it matchs

Thanks, well on the 8" rim we had to run a 6mm spacer, without it the tire would scrub on the rear trailing arm.
The tyre place recommended that we go with that size so it'd make all the wheels look exactly the same, and it kinda does, you can't tell the it's 8" from just looking at the car, it maybe a bit big, I think 205/45/16 would fit perfectly..
We don't like the fact that it's not genuine and is made of plastic, we will defiantly keep it though, new lip is in the process of painting atm
