Well it’s time; Honda Nats 2013 is upon us. I spent the last couple of months working on the Civic (many 4am nights) and well, she’s finally ready.
Lets begin!
To begin I decided it was time for a new set of tyres as my AD08s were well worn. I found a new website in the UK named “Demon Tweaks” that ship any tire and sell cheaper than tire rack so I ordered a new set of AD08s in the size 225/45/17 all round. Now, you’re probably thinking these tires would bulge on my 7” CR Kai yes? I agreed. So I opted to run a fresh set of rims, RPF1 was my clear rim of choice because of its weight, its price and its look. 17x8.5+30 all round is my effective fitment (+40 rim at the front to counteract my +10mm extended top hat on BBK rotors). Rolled and flared my guards a little and relocated my rear bumper tabs. I also got an alignment this week which netted me -3.5 at the fronts and -2.5 at the rears with the help of a pair of Ingalls Camber Bolts.
Stretch is good!
Now to get some power out of this pesky K20a (:
I opted for the usually ECU of choice, the Hondata Kpro (V3). I had Craig from PSR Tuning take care of my ECU and tune for me and I was astounded with the result of my power output and torque increase. VTEC now sits at 4800 and comes on very harsh. The power figure? I was shocked too!

I’ve recently added a new gear-knob and extension to my setup for easier / better shifter feeling at the track, I love how this sits and feels. Mugen Gen 2 gear knob with Circuit Hero gold extension.
Anyone who has met me will know I’m a shortish guy, and for this reason I needed to find an easier way of getting in and out of my car as my bucket seat is… tight. I decided to fit an NRG Quick release onto my Nardi deep corn and used a Works Bell Short Hub to get it fitted to the steering column.
And now, some mods that won’t particularly make any difference on track but suit my taste when it comes to modding a car. I’m an aesthetic lover also.
First in was a custom order J’s Racing Teal Cam Cover from Japan (took 4 months!). Fitted to it is a Carbon Plus Kevlar spark plug cover also (featured on my DC5).
Along with these I decided to ditch the ugly looking fuel rail setup our cars come with and add some bling to the bay. In came a Hybrid Racing gold fuel rail with fuel pressure gauge attached. I love how my bay is looking at the moment.
My main aim and goal with my cars and track work is to someday become professional driver and those who know me well would also know this is my dream. It’s been on the down-low for a while now but I can finally let you all know that I’m officially sponsored by Carbon Plus down here in Victoria. Carbon Plus offer a wide variety of Carbon Fibre products for many Japanese cars and pride themselves on their fitment and quality guarantee. For Honda Nats we have collaborated on something very special to hopefully help others with EP3s looking to add carbon, it took many, many hours but we have finished. A complete aero package has been installed to my car and will hopefully give the extra down-force needed when you push harder and harder at the track. Because I love keeping people in the dark I’m going to bring some bad news, I’m not going to upload any photos or descriptions of the parts. They can all be viewed on my car at H Nats and will update with photos in my post H Nats update.
Thanks for viewing guys, your support has really helped me over the past few months, see you all really soon!
PS, some old friends have made their return on my car from my DC5, just as a daily set for a couple weeks before they get picked up by their buyer
