Hey all, the names Darren! Been hanging around the ClubITR/OzHonda forums for quite a while during my long search for a car and only officially become a member bit less than a month ago. After much researching, searching and many disappoints, moving interest from a Prelude, to a DC2R, to a mazda 3, to a non-turbo Skyline, my car search has come to an end with my 05 Type S! I still remember seeing the ad for this car back when i was a little kid, loved the car back then, forgot about it and now repping the Honda/Integra Type S badge.
Ive looked through many threads on the members rides and I must say, I am truly mind blown at the amount of care that goes into their cars and hopefully, as a growing car enthusiast, I too hope to be able to be as knowledgeable about hondas and cars in general, but before i start, wanted to give a special thanks to Alex (AL92 is his forum name) for giving up his time and giving me advice on cars and lots and lots of extra information on integras!!
Alright enough mumbo jumbo, time to show the car I owned previously/currently.
First up, my Daihatsu Charade G200. Learnt manual in this small car and affectionately named her "Tofu". Boy oh boy, I've had so many problems with this car, but enjoyed driving it either way. No power steering, eats up petrol/radiator fluid like mad and hence super bad fuel economy, gearbox was clunky, dies on the road whenever it wants, then comes back to life whenever it wants, runs on 2 of the 4 cylinders (i think), erratic idling and lastly, the speedo is off by 5km/h <-- love that one the most cause means I know I'll always be below the speed limit
And here she is, my unnamed, DC5S. Bought from a Doctor, 1 owner only, just ticked over 101 000km's and I can honestly say this car is way way better than I had imagined. Not sure how the DC5R compares to the S, but I am more than willing to sacrifice a bit of power for comfort and luxury while knowing I still got some oomph under the hood Hopefully one day i'll be able to go down the modification path and explore whats out there, but for now, going to keep her as stock as a rock Looking forward to hearing any tips on keeping the car in tip top notch and anything to look out for engine/interior/exterior, so please do leave some of your own thoughts/info behind, much appreciated
Apologies for the long post. Thanks for reading,
Darren
