    Dallas' DC5R

    Hey guys!

I bought my DC5 back in January, and back then I had no idea how much I would fall in love with it. It's definitely had its ups and downs, there were all sorts of problems with it from day 1.

I bought it in Queensland and began my roadtrip home to Tasmania. In Albury, I put my foot on the clutch and it didn't come back up. Great, the master cylinder was gone. So I learned to drive without a clutch. Getting onto the Spirit of Tasmania was interesting.

Since then so much money has been thrown into it. A new clutch, exhaust, front coilovers to name a few things.

Here it is the day I bought it:

    Here it is last weekend:

It's reasonably stock, mods are as follows:
    K&N Pod
Racing headers (Not sure of the brand)
Test pipe + catback sports exhaust
    BC Racing Coilovers
    Sports Ag Clutch
    18" Tenzo R
5% tint - Takes a while to get used to but well worth it
Alpine X305S, Type R speakers, 2 Alpine amps and a Rockford P3 sub powered by a 2 farad capacitor
    35w 6000k HIDs
Neons (Ricey, but girls love them)
    Hasport Engine Mounts

There's some other small things, and I have plans for much more. I just need the money.

    Some plans:

Nexus 7 head unit (Trying to sort issues before I begin, such as high quality audio with the sub and 4x amp)
    High flow cat
    Tegiwai cold air intake
Painting the Tenzo's gunmetal grey, maybe.
    K-pro!

Chances are not much will happen until I'm earning a bit more in a more stable job

    Some more pictures

Somehow I passed a roadworthy, this is just before the new plates went on!

My friend experiencing vtec after driving an Excel for years:

Having 5% tint and a mattress in a coupe is a great combo. Perfect for sleeping and other activities, without any passers by knowing.

And my old car... It's embarrassing.

I hope you guys like it

I'm 6 foot 2 and if I put the front seat all the way back, but put the backrest forward then it's actually quite comfy. Definitely long enough! It could be a bit wider when sharing it, but eh it's a sports car. I can't complain.

Welcome! How would you start from a standstill if your CMC blew? I can shift without one but always wondered.

Also cool to see another Tas guy on the forum, ChargeR must be proud.

Put the car in neutral, and start it until the engine is warm. Turn it off, put it in first then start the car with your foot lightly on the accelerator. It'll jerk a bit then take off. Going through Melbourne during the day would have been interesting, but I got there at like 4am so it was nice and quiet.

Where abouts is ChargeR from? I've seen 2 or 3 DC5's around the Launceston area!

                Nice, good skill to know!

ChargeR / Tom is from Tassy but he lives here in Melb.

His cars are still registered there and do take trips down! He may want to fill you in on the extra bits.

I've slept in the front too, never again. Yeah man, I sleep really well in there. Don't forget to crack a window though! It's great when I've gone out or something, I can just park nearby and not have to worry about taxis. It's essentially a flat area with a mattress that cost 5 bucks. Since it's long enough there isn't a reason for it to be uncomfortable!

One headlight was replaced after a small prang, the other was professionally buffed by the repair guys (Insurance paid) and it came up nicely. Not as nice as the new one, but hardly noticeable.
