    Xeyon - My project

First of all I started working on a DA9 as my first car and fell in love with honda and the Integra's more then anything. Now driving and working on a DC5R and love it to death!

    So heres my little story

    First the beginning:

I got her and didn't take any photos (no clue why) when I first got her. This is the best fullish car pic. All I can say is she needed alot of work!

    DSC00544.JPG

As time went on I got a Cat back system and a K&N filter for it and king springs (lowered by 2.5 inch). Then did the sound system and redid the whole boot bay with new material and a solid base for my sub (yes did the whole sound system thing like all the boys (aleast all was pioneer) haha).

Then as the front was destroyed got a new front bumper

    DSC04783.JPG

Loved the look, but needed some paint.

So I got some prelude indicators for the front lights as I liked the look more then the integra ones on it (for this kit at least). At this stage was loving life, was at the time sourcing wheels then something sad happen...

    A very sad day!

    DSC03585.jpg

    Write off... Utterly shattered!

This is what happened to her car (everyone was fine)

    DSC03583.jpg

So that was the end of her life... I got another DA9 and changed as much from the old to the new. Sadly the paint was only 2 weeks old on the old one and I lost the love on working on cars as it got so easily destroyed... So I saved money for 2 years and then decided to get a new toy. My DC5R

So now for my new toy...

    31 Dec 2010

Got my new toy and was so happy!!!

So then started planning for what mods to get (already had a small amount at the time)

So took a photo (unlike last time)

    IMG_1612.jpg

The mods at this stage were

    - Apexi Ram
    - Work Emotion 17's White
    - ep3 strut bar
    - Front and Rear sways
    - 5Zigen Pro racer
    - Toda header + hi flow cat
    - Small interior mods (gear knob and mirror)
    - Carbon bonnet (not on as i do alot of long distance driving at this stage)
-P2R Spacer on the stock manifold

So as time went on got some new blue globes, loved the looks of them but sadly they both blow after 40k km so didn't get them again and went back to the norms

    IMG_3943.jpg

Mates S15 loved going on night drives with. Good times with mates on the road.

    IMG_1618.jpg

so started doing more work as clutch went so guess what new clutch haha.

So got a Toda flywheel and S2 Clutch for it.

Didn't like the ram so I bought a Injen CAI and wow that thing is a huge difference! Placed NGK spark plugs in. So I thought the car has alot more hidden power so I talked to Adrian at Toda Aus and got him to Tune my car with Haltech Platinum system and got a PRB HF2 (instead of a HF1) and got my P2R spacer transferred onto it. So on the day he gave it a bash but was only pulling 120ish kw atw... was shattered. So told him i have a 5Zigen system and yer main reason it was choking out hard!! so sadly had to walk away and just last week placed a Skunk2 Mega system on it. Freed her up heaps! So plan to go back to him and hope for 140's atw.

But I will let you all know what is to come on here.

    Cheers for reading!

Hey mate nice build thread and welcome to ClubITR. How many kms have you done on your DC5 since you bought it?

Just so you don't go in with big expectations, I truly doubt a catback exhaust will net you an extra 20kws.

close to 40k's since when bought , But When talking to Adrian he said I should get huge gains and should be looking at the 140 mark with the mods that are on it at this moment. The 5Zigen was a disappointment for an exhaust. But mid may will post the retune results. Then she will go into a garage in June and plan to build her up more. Possible rebuild and do the suspension and see how it goes. Plan to be a track car eventually.

                  Okay got my exhaust fixed!!

Stopped all the rattles in it. I got a metal clip and placed it over the back left rubber to stiffen it up. Then heated the rear brackets to give a few more cm of clearance at the tip. As I have a rear sway that was not to much fun... So made sure it was well away from it and raised it by the rear to mid section bolts loosened up then re positioned and tightened the hell out of them.

For the mid section behind the cat there are some random bolts from the chassis that face the ground. Got a ridged mount and bolted it there then welded it to the exhaust to hold it in place. Over all very happy, no knocking and vibration on low revs.

This weekend back to Toda Australia to get Adrian to retune it. Cant wait!! Will post figures.

So went to Adrian yesterday and got a retune, now pulling 146.4kw at the wheels!! she is psycho to drive now!! The change from 5zigen to the 70mm Skunk2 system jumped from 121 tuned to 146kw tuned, so other words 70mm skunk2 is the way to go just remember if you get the skunk2 it needs some modifying to make sure you dont get the awesome rattles.

                        Great news.

Have a scan of the dyno graph showing the before and after?

So here are some before and afters

With my last tune i pulled 121.3kw, I installed the new one and without any extra tuning this is what she pulled (sorry for the dodgy photos!!)

                              IMG_5931.jpg

so yer she was all over the shop!!

After a few hours of tuning for a smooth vtec engagement this is her current figure

                              IMG_5940.jpg

this is the exhaust and retune difference

                              IMG_5939.jpg

After that went out with a made and took a few shots and had a good night
