Had monday off and decided to complete step 3 in the blackout process for DC2R #356 by painting the calipers black with VHT high temp caliper paint.
on a bummer note, i just noticed that the car has copped some stone chips from the drive down to wakefield, and to my dismay, someone has backed into the front bumper a tad and forced the paint to hairline fracture will have to get the front and back bumpers re-sprayed i guess after knowing that when i bought her she was immaculate

Looks sweet mate! Clear guard indicators will top her off and some red wheel nuts i'd go to top it off but then that probably spoil your black on black theme!

Thanks mate! Yeh bought black wheel nuts to stay in line, next up is some darker window tint as the oem is starting to bubble, then maybe as you said clear indicators and then the black out may be complete.Honda Nationals, September 9-10, get amongst it!

Awesome read dude Totally made me wanna go look at my car again, and I did hahaha.
Love the new wheels too, totally sets off the car, black calipers make it look so stealth too! Darker tint would make it look even more mean hehehe.
Do you have any plans for engine mods in the future? Was the car stock (engine wise) when you bought her.
Gotta say I'm super jelly about the finish on your car, I have a 2003 dc5r in black and my paint looks no where near as nice as yours.
Nice work I'll be keeping my eye on this piece of JDM porn

In regards to engine mods, the car came completely stock except for a b-pipe (don't know why previous ownder did that) and still is in the exact same condition. Plans for the engine are to leave it as is for as long as possible and focusing on perfecting the other parts of the car first (suspension, weight loss, complete exterior detail). Although when i do plan on finally modding the engine i plan on throwing a snail in the mix (BOOOST) but thats light-years away
Thanks about the paint, ive noticed her paint is in great nick, so i plan to keep it that way with regular washing and careHonda Nationals, September 9-10, get amongst it!

$280 for a brand new Cold Air Intake hahaha dooo it, you know u want too!!
Black cars are such a pain in the ass to maintain... I spent 3 hours on Sunday cleaning and applying scratchX all over the car, today it drizzles for a bit and my car looks like shit already hahaha

I just dont warm to the cliche for POWERRRR when everything else on a car is inadequate, and sticking to my plan keeps the modification path of the car clear and focused, rather than sporadic and random.
But yes, the engine bug does always seem to get close to biting once in a while !
But more importantly, coil-overs-bushing overhaul-camber arms, are wheres its next at!Honda Nationals, September 9-10, get amongst it!

Looks tops with the black rims/number plates..
I reckon blacking out the windows might be detrimental to the aesthetics of the blackness. Can look cheap compared to pristine clean clear glass on a black car

Just after all you guys gave me praise about how car the looked, the worst happened a few days ago.
i took my car off the streets and parked it in my townhouse complex visitors parking bay, with the intention to have it there for a few nights. The parking bay is tiny, literally squeezed my car in, and had to slide out of it and slither along the wall and my car to get out. Its one space, and at the front is headed by a tree.
Coincidentally, my complex also leaves the 8 bins for our houses there due to space restraints in consolidated urban crows nest. Therefore i carefully placed the bins around my car so it caused no obstruction for peoples garages or the road it went out onto.
That night my strata manager sends everyone a email stating the visitors parking bay is not allowed to be used as it is for "bin space". Upon hearing this i intended to move my car the next day ASAP.
When i came to my car the next day, 3 bins had been moved from behind my car to the front, wedged in between my front bumper and the tree where there is NO SPACE AT ALL.
Instantly i imagined the bins having to be picked up and scraped along my car just because there is no space to get to the front, it would be hard enough you were 3 months pregnant let alon holding bins.
On closer inspection, my car was scratched twice and dented 3 times. I LOST MY SHIT.
I called all the two houses and asked the residents if they had moved the bins, the said no and apologised for the misfortune. Both also reconciled that the visitors parking never gets used as is okay to do so.
Suspecting all along it was my strata manager as he had told me off about my car and it impeding bins space, i confronted him by knocking on his door. The fucking worm wouldnt even come down and talk to me, he sent his wife to talk and then she mediated the whole thing. Eventually it ended up with him denying moving the bins the fucking piece of shit.
There is no video evidence to prove anyone did it, so i refrained from losing it in their face, there is nothing i can do even though im positive he tried to move the bins over my car and scratched my baby.
So now my car is scratched and dented and im liable for damages.
Im so fucking pissed.
but as my front bar has stone chips from WP, and the rear has been rammed, i want to redetail my car with a complete dent out and front/back bumper respray and rear quarter touch up.
Insurance excess is 800, can anyone recommend way of maybe getting getting insurance to cover it, or will i have to directly deal with panelbeaters if i want it done properly?Honda Nationals, September 9-10, get amongst it!
