no I didnt buy it.. I went 2 my mates place and played with it.. I jsut didnt like it man... it seriousyl felt like a total gimmick - the entire thing.... AFter palying witht the g25.. i would pay no more than $100 for the g25... its not up to the hype AT ALL.
at the end of the day, i would rather take the 450 bucks to get a g25 and the 100 for the game and use it for 3 track days in my own car. Let's face it, we all use integras in these games.
The main selling point with the G25 - H-pattern shifter, and clutch pedal. The G25 was the first mainstream wheel that was relatively affordable with these features. It may not feel like the real thing but it's one step closer. As an added bonus, it can be used for PC and there are literally thousands of mods available for games like rFactor, GTR2, etc. I can race at Mt Panorama, Wakefield, Oran Park, Winton, EC, all for free. Some may argue the tracks are not accurate, well then have a read of this: http://www.bobstrackbuilder.net/laser_scanning_op.aspx
If you value the G25 at $100, then the MS wheel is worth about $5. There are other wheels out there that are significantly more expensive, but when paired with Forza 3, the detail in the physics and tire modelling in the game becomes apparent. It's a shame most users won't get to experience it unless you're willing to fork out $700+ for a quality wheel, but adding to the cost of these wheels is the usual MS proprietary BS.
I was happy with Forza 3 and my MS wheel - until the f*ckin thing broke 90 day warranty, MS probably expect it to break.

i see your point, i do agree that the g25 compared to it's rivals - yes the g25 wins hands down. Justthe hype surrounding it, isn't worth it once you actually use it. I played with it for a mere 20 minutes and wasnt impressed. And i get impressed about stuff easily lol.
does anyone have the logitech gt wheel? comparisons to g25/27? i dont want the shifter and clutch pedals (automatic ftw) so prefer the gt as u can get it for 150ish.
GT5 was meant to be ready about 3 years ago when they brought out the PS3.
Now this is the game i have been waiting for.
GT4 was my life (before i had my licence) LOL
I told my GF that she wouldn't see me for 4 weeks when i get that game.
u mite wanna have a look at fanatec wheels as well video comparison with g25 . the 911 turbo wheel has way more features for same price as g27. wireless, 2 shifters, and its a PORSHCE!!..def getting this with gt5

ebay, shopbot ..sometimes dicksmith and GAME. arnd 200-250. same price as g27 i think. one disadvantage is for any warranty issues have to deal with german company so would have to ship wheel there etc. just hope it doesnt break i guess. but the bling factor and features on this wheel far outweigh this. for me biggest thing is wireless (no cable clutter) but u cant swap the plastic pedals on this wheel for the optional full metal pedals coz of the wireless.. i guess if money is no issue u wud get the gt3 rs wheel with clubsport metal pedals and full cockpit
