I hate people who message you saying "Oh I can get it from this place for this price and its much cheaper then yours and its brand new". Are they bloody stupid? If it's cheaper and brand new its obvious you go straight to the store and stop wasting your time with me... duh?!

IMO
supply and demand... esp. with 2nd hand parts. so that why prices change for some things over periods of time.
if something is in high demand and not many suppliers.. people will pay more for the item usually. vise versa.
value of goods is also different to each person.
this is why problems occur. if you dont like the price someone is selilng something. dont buy it, simple as that.
if a buyer want something, sometimes you get it cheap, sometimes you might have to pay abit more. or the going rate. thats life
they can ask them to lower the price but be reasonable and not insulting. dont expect them to be nice if they think your being a lowballer. they also have the same right to tell you no.
and some people are just full of sh1t. wu' i agree with you. i dislike those people too.
cheers

i think honda parts are way over inflated....like i found it insane that a cold airintake costing $1000, i mean yeh if its for a merc and its original.....for example a dc5s stock front bar $700+, a aurion toyota only $150....no bull shit....
and your not going to tell me that the honda one is made of magnesium.......i think its rediculous.....one of my mates blew a type R engine dc5, a replacement was going to cost him 8 gran....i mean you can get a r34 GTR engine for around that.....well i think you can...

DC5 Engine around the same, a little harder to get but its probably equal, if not better quality than any other japanese engine ever made.

You can find Aurion bumpers everywhere. Ask someone who has tried looking for a DC5 front bar how easy they are to find. It's simple supply and demand market practise. We're not cracking the code here.Last edited by m0nty; 16-11-09, 12:18 PM.

I think hondas are often seen as being overpriced due to the simplicity of the bolt ons, the price of the bolt-ons, and the relatively small gain vs turbo cars....
Most honda "modification enthusiasts" will do Intake/Header/Exhaust + ECU for their power mods... in my mind the issue is mainly with:
1. Intake = pod on a pipe or pod in a box = +5kw atw before tuning?
2. Exhaust = hollow metal pipe of a certain diameter that runs in a shape identical to the exhaust "path" under the car. = +5kw atw before tuning?
Even though I would normally buy "branded" parts (ahem... obligatory JDM yO!.... yes), i would admit that pricey intake/exhausts are
1. Simple to make - (metal pipe that follows the exhaust path or pod on a stick that goes down the bumper)
2. Doesnt offer many variations
3. Non-branded parts generally do as good a job (put a K&N on a stick or a custom welded box and it'll probably be the same as a AEM or gruppe M)
Compared to say nissan owners, their mods would generally involve components that i'd imagine require some engineering skill and manufacturing precision (turbo sizes, housing, turbines, wastgates, etc).
I think spending $1000 on a second hand turbo wouldnt be viewed as "overpriced" cos we know we can't make it and it really does take some R&D and precision.
However spending $1000+ on a 2nd hand exhaust (spoon/mugen) can arguably be stupid... because seriously aside from the weight savings of using titanium how complex and how different can a metal pipe that follows the same exhaust be?!?!
end of rant.
Thanks
