I’m 90% decided on my next car:
Good points = great cruiser 1500-2000rpm at 100kmh, lots of torque low down, seats 5, automatic, stability control (maybe), curtain airbags (maybe), it can tow 2300kg, engine over twice as big, power almost twice as much, great in a straight line, turbo, cheapish.
Bad points = horribly flat seats and no foot rest, engine sounds strained >6000rpm, weird DBW throttle calibration (too much too soon), chews through petrol, maybe poor build quality (crosses fingers), very poor resale, no locking fuel cap (WTF!), 650kg heavier than a DC2R and “handles” like a cargo tanker in high waves.
Yes. It’s just what a reborn Aussie bogan has to get around in, it'll hopefully be a Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo automatic
The good news is that I’ve got space to keep my DC2R as well. So after I’ve finished bagging “Jap tin crap 4-bangers that can’t crack 14 sec quarter miles” with my mates I can sneak it out whenever I want to enjoy driving. It’ll be capable of towing a race car (an old Datsun) and the trailer will be able to accommodate the Integra as well.
My DC2R isn’t going anywhere soon and as long as I have the space I’ll just keep on acquiring more cars to supplement it’s good qualities.
