try Apple icon > System Preferences... > Network

delete the old connection to your router, then add it manually by pressing the [+] button, then enter your SSID, WEP and key.

have you restarted the router after changing all of the settings? if not, save settings and restart it.
Looks like it's working Thanh! Thanks mate.

Well another major issue. Sorry for all the nooby help.

I've owned my new computer for 2 months now.
It was built by myself with some assistance, so I'm not as nooby as it seems!

          Specs are:
          Core 2 duo E6400
          ASUS P5B Motherboard
          Corsair 2gb RAM
          GeForce 7600GT
          WD 250gb SATAII HDD
          Windows Vista Ultimate

Lately, my computer has been crashing alot!

          Say 4-5 times a week.
The first month it crashed, and the blue screen showed:
          'MEMORY_MANAGEMENT' ***STOP: 0x0000001A (0x00041790, 0xC0801078, 0x0000FFFF, 0x00000000)
It was repeated with the same error for the first month as shown below.

Then the next month new errors keep occurring.

The errors/blue screen are as followed:

          1.
          "Technical information:
          *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x821570FA, 0x8357F874, 0x00000000)"

          2.
          IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
          *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x89746e80, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x820B3EB6)

As I done more research I noticed the key word RAM, so I thought there might be something wrong with the RAM.

So I took one stick out (1gb), to test it. The only one that was in the slot continued to crash after a week.

So I put the other stick in and taking the other one out, for two weeks, and it did not crash at all. No dramas whatsoever.
Was so happy without all the dramas, but computer was not running fast enough with just 1GB.

So I try putting both back in, it crashed. So now I'm assuming one of the RAM is faulty.

          Would you guys say so?

Corsair has a lifetime warranty on their products too.

Vista has a memory diagnostics tool...Just put in your Vista CD and boot the machine. then when you're at the screen that asks if you want to install Vista, there is a link to repairing Vista and there is a memory diagnostics tool...

Maybe run that? Not sure if it's any useful.

Or you can try putting your RAM in another machine to see if the same problem occurs...

            ---

I know I have my own problem...I think my GFX has fubarrrrrrrrrrred...only lately when I try to install nVidia drivers, the GFX won't detect DVI connection (analog is fine) and I'd have to roll back to WDMM drivers...hence why I was running in Software mode on Monday night

              1. Download the iso from here http://www.memtest.org/
              2. Make a bootable cd using the iso downloaded
              3. Restart computer and boot from cd
              4. Wait, this is the industry check for memory and if it comes up with a fault any supplier will do the warranty for you no issues.

Make sure you do 1 stick of ram at a time.

No, That's with the good RAM in there (1GB). No way in hell am I going to live through the week with my comp crashing.

I've also done the Memtest last night for the good RAM, no errors.

One question, how many tests should I go through or pass?
I kept going on and on and on, and I would've thought it would stop by itself say after 10 tests and provide a small feedback or report of errors and outcome.

I eventually fell asleep and did 29 tests which went over 8 hours

I'll do a Memtest on the bad RAM soon.

Ok, so I've ran the memtest on both sticks of RAM and as expected the one that I thought has screwed is TOTALLY screwed, came up with too many errors.

                          I bought the 2GB Corsair 667 (2x1GB) value pack, at ~$217 4 months ago.

Today I brought it back to MSY and they took both the sticks of RAM to send it back for warranty.

So now my desktop computer has no RAM at all. Until I get my RAM replaced under warranty which may take up to 3 weeks.

What I want to do now, is buy say, 1GB of RAM for the meantime to use my desktop computer.

Ok, what I'm wondering is if I do get my 2GB RAM back from warranty, am I still able to use the 1GB that I will be using for the meantime. Totaling to 3GB of RAM.

2 x Corsair, while the 1GB in the other slot?

I cant live using my laptop for 3 weeks!

Did you right click on the .exe file and make it run in win2k mode and force 256 colour mode?

Because it works on my machine (Vista32 bit).
