only thing you need to worry is dvd region and blue ray regions, ps3 games have no region

so it works on a PAL tv? cool!

with the NTSC PS3, do we have to worry about the output device? ie. tv/monitor etc....

So there's really no disadvantage of getting one from HK?

We're using the ps3 as a blu-ray player in our dedicated home theatre so all blu-ray moves we'll be buying will be in hk region with chinese subs for the parents. The ntsc ps3 works as normal regardless of the output device. The aus version doesn't include the chip that was removed for backward gaming compatibility, instead using a very unstable software emulator. Hk ps3 is 60% of the aus ps3 console and the games in hk are 50% of the price. Aus are selling the most expensive and shittest ps3 on the globe.

Anyways, TV nowdays are all multi region anyways, no worries at all.

I know all along that it is said that PS3 games will not have regions but I just talked to my colleague and he said just before releasing the console Sony decided to change this. Thus some games will be regioned. Can anyone confirm this ?
