Thanks for all the replies guys.. Maybe i should consider another N/A as an upgrade instead... yea the warming up and cooling off peroid is not something I like lol..

At the end of the day i might just stick with the type r haha but i've always loved the evo! so if i was to upgrade it would probably be the evo! seems like im not alone either haha

i've never been in an evo, but i do get to drive sti's daily, and i couldnt live with the comfort for a daily driver, heaps worse than my dc2r imo

well to give you an idea, heaps and i mean HEAPS of type r owners move onto evos. That should give u something to think about. There has to be a reason why droves and droves of people go purchase the same type of cars over and over again.

Having said that do not even be swayed by the *oh i dont want to be seen driving a sti becuase its too common* becuase at the rate the evo IX is selling and being snatched up its more common then the sti 06 by a long margin

evo is a much better car imo than sti but i went sti because there are sooooo many parts available and damn cheap too. I built my whole car from ebay and second hand parts from the wrx forums.

I went STI as the car had to be daily driver and by all reports the 06 STI is better for than the current Evo. As for the common comment, STI only appears common because you notice them, the Evo looks just like any other Lancer with a body kit. Suppose you have to be "into" them to notice them.

i dont have/owned either but i have a mate that has a import evo 8 (not sure if its MR) and one that has 02 STi. have driven and been passenger in both, and if it was my choice i would buy the evo, just feels nicer to drive.
