The calliper method is very inaccurate at best since it comes down to the user's technique, the site used each time and the time of day that the measurements are taken. All these factors will change the outcome.
Scales aren't very accurate either. Scales send an electric current through the feet and measure the resistance from one foot to the other to get a measurement. The problem with this is how electricity works - it will go from point to point. Therefore, it only travels from foot to foot, so, you'll get a reading based on your body fat % and water % from your feet, legs and hips. If you're predisposed to having fat (or having lean) legs, it won't give an accurate reading of your total figures.
The picture chart Karl is referring to is, I think, the DEXA scan - the most accurate measurement you can get and is probably the most expensive.
I did the 4 point pinch test today (abs, hip, tricep, thigh). I referred a friend to Anytime and he was offered the first free PT session which I didn't do. So they offered it to me as well.
