reasons for selling the car? (believe it or not there answers are always different. not the standard got a kid on the way or got a company car)
how long have they had it for?
and how many kms did u pick it up for when u bought it? (ull see how much driving his/her done and ull whether believe it if they say they rarely driven it n stuff)
any accident history?
any service log books? (if they say yes check em, if not ant reciepts on its last few services)
these standard questions will help and to check for any accidents check the rear boot where the spare wheel is for any cracks or blogging thats been done incase of being rear ended. usually if its a decent hit or slightest it usually cracks inside where the spare wheel is and ull notice easily if its been repaired. as for front end damages check the frame where the fender gets attached to for any cracks or welding done. and i guess justt he standard panels are straight and sitting flush amongest themselves. all in all its quite hard to see if theres any problems cosmetically. its really up to the owner aswell to tell u the truth aswell. enough ranting from me hope it helps u abit lol

sounds like you found a gem then, sounds pretty good. if you negotiating about the prices i would recommend you to do it in person. so you able to chop him in price dropping so he would buckle infront of you instead of being over the phone giving him time to turn it down. ask for his bottom dollar man and try shave off a thousand first then work your way down. you never know he might even drop a k for ya for travelling this far for it and by the sounds of it he sounds like a good guy and might be able to fix you up a better deal then its actually listed for. dc2r for 15k is pretty good but would be a steal if your able to drop it even more! try ask for a 2k drop man! then start from there and decrease haha..

REVS check?
check for dodgy welding. we checked out a CW in sydney not too long ago. single owner since new. low miles. car had no insurance claims history, no finance .. REVS check was clean.
looked under the bonnet and there was some really fked up welding on the side of engine bay.
my mate spotted another unusual paint colour on the engine bay... just a small spot but was enough to set the alarm bells ringing.
wish you all the best! car looks mint from pics.

Thecprevious owner wouldn't budge from $15,700, he has only driven the car 3000km's in his ownership of 3 years, and he has spent over $22,000 inc. car to keep it up to date and running perfect, the only problems i have found on my LONG journey back is an engine mount...not sure which one it is, the car is a little jerky when you first put your foot down. There is also a very very faint spinning noise when i have the clutch out in neutral, im guessing its one of the bearings, besides that, the engine sounds perfectly healthy and the car is in great condition for its age

Its usually the mount at the back of the engine that goes first. A respray will only devalue the car and cost you a lot of $$ doing so..

yeah i have to agree with you, but im planning to keep the car as long i as i can, btw, the previous owner put a brand new set of bridgestone re002's before giving it to me, theyre 205/15/50 on the original 15 inch rims, i thought they only took 195's? the car feels a little weird around corners, but i have no clue what im going to do, should i get a new set of 195's or just keep these on there?

when i was googling the width for dc2rs, i found that many owners in the states were running 205s on the stock rims without any issues. so in theory, it seems to be ok?
could you elaborate more on the "weird" feeling - noise? feel?
