Hi folks! Any trackday tips for first timers??

Here are a few quick tips off the top of my head:

Don't crash. Seriously.

Take plenty of fluids for your car and yourself. Check fluids religiously between sessions.

Listen carefully at any driver briefings.

Watch your mirrors, the beginner groups at track days I have been to seem to be constantly filled with long trains of cars stuck behind one car that will not let anyone pass.

Work up to a pace you are comfortable with and don't let anyone pressure you into doing anything silly on track. If there is a faster car putting pressure on you just let them past and give yourself some space.

Pay attention to flags.

If instructors are available make full use of them.

Don't wear tight clothings and remember to breath.

A number of experienced people will be there. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself and ask questions, we won't eat you up unless you're tasty which, by the sound of your nick, you're a guy so you're probably yucky .
