Is it possible that they are using 'air cleaner' to refer to things commonly found on top of carburettors because they are stuck in the past. For example "I have a fully sick chrome air cleaner on my charger" (ChargeR, 2008) . The air cleaner being the bit that holds the filter, much like Shifty's mugen airbox is the vessel in which the air filter is contained. The rule certainly needs more clarification.

Looks like an interesting championship, I wonder if there is a similar thing down here south of the border.

under a narrow interpretation (mine) this is why it is not permitted.

under a more expansive interpretation (toda, shifty, ChargeR) the air cleaner would include all the air inlet parts, including piping and brackets. so a replacement one is whatever it is.

in this case, why was an injen CAI deemed not permitted in 2B in 2007?

Why dont ppl just jump into 3b and dont need to worry? hahaaha

If your unsure of the rules, call up the officals and have a chat. Pretty simple.

Interesting. I know of a sprint series known as the BP midland sprints, but I can find no info on it online.

Also once my HSCCV membership is up I will definitely be joining the JSCC .

well, here we go! i was wrong maybe?

acording to honda the "air cleaner" is this:

therefore the Mugen is OK as long as the "resonator" is retained?

Totally Agree, was such an awesome experience supersprinting at night. Even being an spectator was awesome, seeing those brake rotors glow red.

I was totally buggered, starting the day from 9am to 10pm.

Had a nice end to the championship with Leo (e240). That last run was pretty close.

Ill make up another thread regarding round 9 with some youtube action!

Great finish to the 08 season!

Night racing was better than i expected, some say there was enough light to not need headlights?

Was able to achieve consistent times throughout the day & night thanks to the driver training in the morning. The instructor managed to transform my car into a drift car

Broke PB by about 4 secs - 54.500 on street tyres.

Totally buggered as well - almost fell asleep in the garage when i got home lol
