[Circuit Club] Trackday! 1 Oct 2007 - Labour Day - Wakefield Park
What gear did you use for your pics? Looks like its taken at turn 1/2 where you need abit of tele-lenses. Very nice very clear.
It sure is a good day there, especially i get to take pics at the fish hook turn at the downhill. Besides taking good pics, i get to see how all approach that corner and that tells me alot on how i should tackle it the next time i'm there.
For all ralliart colt owners & lovers, i'm please to announce that the ralliart colt forum is finally online and working. Please come and support the site. http://www.rcolt.com
Thanks guys who made it! it was a great day, but yes there were a little too many cars on the day!
Though we usually cap the day at 60, plus a couple extras on the day, this time the demand was so high it was hard to say no to all of you =(
Most groups had a good time though, C was the main trouble group, but even so, the afternoon freed up and wasn't too busy
we will definately be stricter next time with entries, so no begging please! it breaks my heart! hehe
please put forward your suggestions on the CC forum.. there is quite a discussion going on over there, so add your two cents please, and we will consider everyones thoughts for future events =D
No, its Andrew with a stock red Integra DC2R (which is still for sale! )

I used a Nikon D200 with 500mm f/4 manual focus lens on tripod. The wind was picking up the lens hood and buffeting it around really badly, but I found if I hid in the shadow of the photographers shack at the end of turn 2, it protected me from the wind just enough to take some sharp photos.
(In past trackdays I've also used the 70-200/2.8 VR with 2x tele but the wind was actually too much for the VR to work, in fact even the D200 autofocus didn't work and the few test shots I took came out totally blurry!)
Anyway.. a few things that were very different this trackday..
1. Way too many people on the track at one time so traffic was a big issue
2. 5 groups so everyone hardly got any track time
3. Extremely windy (I'm blaming this for my crappy laptime)
Yeah, as I said.. I managed to be 0.3 seconds slower with semi slicks... So therefore, my theory goes "semi-slicks = slow"
haha.. nah.. I think I wasn't concentrating as there were way too many cars that obstructed everything,...
drive harder arron!! lol
still need to break the 1:15 u always wanted

Haha, I drove pretty hard.. but tried to make everything smoother.. smoother on the brakes and throttle..
I have turns 3,4 and the last corner to work on.. Just need more time on the track.. ergh... but I'm aiming for 1:14's to be realistic..
I'm blaming a multitude of things for such pathetic laptimes on monday.. ie. traffic, wind, dust, oil temp warning beeping at me, getting used to semi slicks, thicker oil.. haha.. all excuses for the 1:16's
