sorry to digg this up guys...but i had another observation

its not really ww hine like a gearbox whine

its more like a buzzing sound.... could it be the new clutch (exedy organic) and toda fly?

the buzzing is progressive, like at wakey i remember getting off the gas and when i did there was a progressive buzzing that reduced pitch as the car slowed down

        am i making sense?

also, when revving the car at standstill there seems to be more vibration. I thought engine mount, but then i put it in gear and engaged the clutch slowly with the handbrake up and i couldnt identify any metal to metal

laptop with microphone woudl be the best...

PS - i doubt that it could be the clutch/flywheel - unless the "pilot bearing" in the centre of teh flywheel is bad - or the release baering is bad?

were these replaced when the clutch/fly were changed??

PPS - check your gearbox oil level!

i dont think ther eis enough info to go on really..

jack ya car up and spin the wheels and listen to sounds for the wheel bearing.. if it bad enough u should hear it..

shake the wheel at 3 and 9 to see if its the hubs

leave your car on the ground.. remove intake if neccessary and undo the gbox filler hole and finger it.. if it gets wet or fluids ooze out then you should be fine too..

do a couple of light full lock turns to test ya CV.,..

then if u suspect its your motor mounts.. full lock up your handbrake and rock the motor (balancing clutch and accel) and get a mate to watch and listen for smashed up engine mounts.. and dont run your mate over while at it..

after all that and the problem still cant be found its proabably gbox related.. and u would either have to start testing youself the clutch engagement eetc...

else you might need to crack open gbox

just my 2 cents.. could be completly off..

The Toda Fly Wheel makes this noise.

Both Freakygeek's and my car make it.

How much "louder" than stock is your car?

You probably wont be able to hear it.

Cambo and I both have the Toda/Exedy combo in an ITR gear box and both cars make the exact same noise described under high-rpm de-acceleration.

In addition to this, my car also makes a weird little buzz as the revs drop, around 3000>2000rpm. I thought it was a bird trapped in my engine bay initially. Then I figured out after about a week that if it was a bird it would be dead by now, hence destroying my theory. So I concluded that it was something to do with the new Clutch/Fly combo.

unless its some resonance from some sought of vibration at certain revs..
