I concur with the Stevan. Polyurethane bushes don't have a great reputation and I certainly wouldn't use them in a DC5 because due to the really odd suspension design at the rear where all the bushes are not all coaxial some compliance in the bushes is essential for reasonable performance. Sphericals would work here probably. I suspect this is why Mugen do not make hard rubber replacement bushes for the rear of the DC5.

speaking of which tom we would love to hear your impressions of the pci bearings?? i have been overseas for over a month and havnt gotten around to installing mine yet, keen to see the difference.

on another note alex reading further into rsd vs monoflex the rsds i think are better for 2 main reasons:

1: they are rebound adjustable only which is better for track tuning by keeping the bump behaviour constant

2: the 10/16 spring rates are probably the best out of the box rates that will achieve a close to neutral suspension bias

the only point of concern i have is the front strut housing bracket, i know that the rsds now are "revised" but i am a bit wary of failures i have heard of. then again these sources seem to be derived from the "i had a friend who had rsds on his dc5 and....." generally they are well received for track and daily duties. when i return home i think i will put off installing the pci's until i have new suspension in to see the real difference they make

No impressions on the PCis yet sorry, still haven't driven the car or gotten an alignment. If I install my Mugen rack bushes this weekend I might get an alignment next week.

Good points on the RSD vs. Monoflex

No one has roll cage? Any good bolt ons for dc5 or better off getting welded in cage?

Track. If using slicks you have to have cage. Cams rule right?

Got a link to the particular CAMS regulation that links slick style tyres with the use of a roll cage? A CAMS logbooked cage is required for any wheel to wheel or tarmac rally type speed event in Australia as far as I know but I have never heard of it being a requirement for the use of a particular tyre.

Only at sandown did people get questioned and refused entry. I was also told that with use of semi slicks you should have an oil catch can.

I think some people are tooooo over the top with rules and regulations that sometimes they invent stuff up. But I've yet to check cams for these rules.

hey guys, im looking to upgrade my rear sway, currently using front JDM dc5R sway.

im tossing up between jdm rear sway or ultraracing 25mm rear sway..

                    any insights?

I was thinking at one point to get rid of my JDM sway bar and buy an ultra racing 25mm one...lol....3mm difference..should I bother too? haha... but jj17, i reckon ultra racing would be good value for money. Plus a few project cars such as http://www.projectdc5.com/ use ultra racing reinforcement bars.

i know what u mean dude but, even tho it might be say 3 mm thicker.. the built of it might be less solid than the jdm oem sway.. this i have no idea and was hoping someone has an insight. but at this stage i am looking @ the UR 25mm tho.. for only ~$30 more.

My opinion is that the flex in the original is very minimal. Changing to larger size will increase weight and performance differ is minimal.. I always add strut bar's top and bottom to BOX the strut's in car's i've owned. Dc2R have them stock. Dunno about DC5R,S. Just never buy adjustable struts bar's or ect. They will have more play, movment in them!!
