OEM antenna FTW IMO... when radio off, looks slicker...
and if ever! chances might be slim, but if ever you go through a car wash, s2k type antenna will snap off...
to each their own i guess
dvd mp3 FTW too! never have to change disc or listen to radio...

I've used a high pressure hose and the s2k type does not snap off...plus I didn't drive my car through those stupid crappy automated car washing things...I did it myself...plus they're the same as the antennas on other cars...ie they screw on...so I don't see why it would snap off.

Dude, you won't snap off the antenna, don't worry about Ray, I think he is just smoking some crack....me and BrendanR have the same one and there are no problems.

haha... no man... i'm just saying...
coz i had a customer come into my work in a stock CRV and the CRV has them type of antenna on them... and she took it thru those servo car washes and it actually snapped off...
so i was saying if you ever go thru one of them crappy servo ones, ever, then it will snap off... the high pressure hose wont snap it though so u should be safe
hey i've never smoke crack in my life!

Why dont any of you guys just cut the cable going to the antenna and put a switch in there to stop the antenna from going up and down.

So it only goes up when u listen to the radio.

Its a thin green/yellow wire in the driver side

Why not just use a head unit that does it for you?

That has always pissed me off with Pioneer head units...

Several of the head unit brands do it! Kaveh copied what I did and put a switch in there.

i put a switch in when i had my pioneer deck... now my sony deck automatically puts it down for me... but sony isn't too good... jvc does it too... i'm sure maybe pioneer have done it now as well?

but ummm... is this the reason why this thread was started or is it just coz they want the s2k type antenna coz its smaller?

My old JVC deck would go into radio mode when I ejected a CD

oh and I use a FM transmitter these days so keeping the antenna at a minimal height is better
