before you commit to MPS, check on the mazda forums on the reliability of the turbo. i heard they can be a problem.

however for the money, MPS is loaded with feature. i just can't get over the smily face lol.

with servicing cost, VW is not too bad as they due ever 15000km. also the Mk6 GTI runs timing chain so no need to replace timing belt.

with power, just spend $1k on an ECU reflash and instant 20awkw.

This man knows the truth. A reflashed GTI smashes the MPS. Lil and I are actually looking to trade both the SS and Golf for a Golf R. It gives practicality and serious performance for under $55k. The reflash gives it 175kW atw and a sub 5 second 0-100. The chassis runs rings around the Mazda 3 too

Not really. The APR reflash comes with a 3 year warranty which covers all parts linked to any damage caused by the software upgrade. I have never seen any reports of failures linked to the software reflash done by APR.

screw APR, very overpriced.

there are DIY refleshes like Bluefin which can be reflashed back to stock anytime you want and dealers wont be able to detect it. all for around $1k.

Warranty? Surely a DIY runs the gauntlet there.

APR is also not detectable and runs valet mode for servicing and full lock out via combination on cruise control.

reflashed/chipped GTI's seem to be the way to go these days. love them!

in terms of detectability, i guess flashing your stock map back in the car would be better than having an APR map hidden in there....

It just comes up as an engine fault code. Most service departments are too stupid to do anything. they just clear codes and carry on. They've got better things to do than investigate engine codes that customers haven't complained about.

if you guys want to continually crap on about gti's how about taking it to a vw forum and stop spamming the dudes thread
