          it's just that, i have nfi how to open up the lsd right now
          we took out the two philips head retainer screws but i've got no idea how to separate it

            you have to use slight force to pull it apart...

            i put the bottom bit in a vice, and tapped the top section gently with a rubber mallet:



            these are the bits you will find inside:



            here is the re-assembly sequence:

                  say.. those shims/large washers
                  i'm going to buy a few parts from oemacuraparts for my gearbox, should i buy new ones to replace the possibly worn ones?

                    there are no user serviceable parts inside the LSD, so it is sold by Honda as single part.

                        will just change both mainshaft bearings i guess and clean out the lsd

                        what's best to use to clean it out, carby cleaner?

                          nah, dont use carby cleaner!

                          use a liquid like kerosene or 'parts solvent' that you can specifically buy from the automotive stores... make a bath for all the bits and do a two or three step wash...

                          and use a paint brush...

                              yep. that will work.

                              but it is highly flammable, so be very careful!!!!

                              proper parts solvent is a bit safer to use...

                                Petrol works better than kero - it leaves no residue. Wear a respirator and gloves and don't blow yourself up.
