          as you can see - half the guys posting in this thread have busted thermostats (some don't even know it...)

            look mines been doing that for like a while now im just to lazy to go buy a new thermostat and swap it out..

            and touch wood still runs well haha.. =P

            but its an easy swap to do with a bit of know how..

              yeah i'm curious to know now... if it happens to seize up... what is the worst that can happen? i'll see if i can get mine changed next service...

              any recommendations whether to go OEM or some other brand?

                  That'd be pretty hard wouldn't it Dave? Doesn't it only seize at open? thats why I haven't replaced mine with any urgency!.

                    Just a note - Running the engine "cold" all the time also increases engine wear.
