B18C7 Tappet Clearance

    i made my own special tool ,, stainless pipe 10mm socket swan off combination spanner welded together lol

    btw set the tapits on the lower side of tolerance that Honda quote ie intake 0.15mm and 0.17mm ,not in the middle of the tolerance

            Nice tool you made

            I found that setting mine to the tighter end of the tolerance caused random misfires...

                  Basically that old saying just means "too loose is better than too tight"...

                  Which is absolutely right. Over-tight valve clearances can mean burnt valves!

                    very true a brunt valve wouldn't be nice, lol I'm just uses to working on Honda's RFVC engines (that is radial four valve combustion) for example Honda XR250R, the case with those engines is if you set the tapits on the upper limits of the spec it creates wear due to bouncing rocker arms at high RPM's lol as the RFVC got pretty complex rocker arm setup,,, have a look at this website

                          yeahh trueee i made it round 6 inches long so if its to short i can always cut welds off and lengthen it lol

                              been so long since i used feeler guages lol only used them when i was doin engines at tafe few years bak... i got hold of some bent feelers today ...only one tool place had a set...anyway im a lil confused ...yous say 0.15 - 0.19 intake and 0.17 - 0.21 ex...but feelers guages are ranged from .203mm to .660mm i think there a lil to thick... hmm
