Why are you looking at a coilover sleeve set? You'd be better off with a proper set of entry level coilovers like Tein SS in the long run. Don't waste money on something you're gonna replace with something superior later anyway.
Alright i still haven't got a price yet.
There is a set of Skunk2 lowered springs for sale $400 BUT it says 2" drop..
is that true? is that heaps on a dc5?
i dont wanna be scrapping the hell outta my car or shreeding my OEM shocks.. (yes i know i will have to replace then OEM shock sooner or later)
Any advice?
also i got this quote from Eibach AUS.....
Timothy,
The Eibach Sportline Kit to suite your enquiry is in stock, price $680.00 + freight + GST.
Approximate lowering from new car height front 1.0' and rear 1.4'
If you are willing to put in a bit more effort you could go for a Ground Control threaded sleeve kit. They use eibach springs, will sell you whatever spring rates you want and then you can get a good damper like Koni yellows down the track and you will have a nice handling car for minimal outlay. GC coilovers/sleeves should be in the vicinity of 5-600 dollars or less ordered direct from GC.
Many lowering springs don't seem to have the stiffness to keep the car off the bumpstops from what a lot of guys on clubrsx claim, or they lower the car too much.
Timmy most cars here are lowered about 2-2.5". Mine is closer to 3.5-4" but never street driven. You can read plenty about the effects of lowering a DC5 all over the intarwebs. There are plenty of other parts that you can fit to minimize the negative effects of aggresive lowering but you'll need some serious cash. Lowering a DC5 up to 2" shouldn't present many problems but it would be a good idea to match shocks also.
Thanks for the tips guys, een a really big help as i know next to nothing about sussy.
Hmm i will look into ground control... i think skunk2 also had he coil sleeves...
hmm if i could pick up som spoon springs for a good price i would.
I will just keep searching and seeing what ppl are using.
Bro I droped my car 2" with the Skunk 2 Springs & havent had any major issues, Im about to fit a rear camber kit to sort out the rear end and am on the verge of either buying mugen or Koni Shocks!

Really like the look of your ride height, how did they effect the ride comfort? and does it feel like it changed the handling at all?
I was about to go for some nice coilovers but now i'm just hanging around to see some sort of final word on the law change. also reconsidering if spending 3k on coilovers is actually worth it over spreading the same on a other various parts

Look I mean the ride itself is alot more bumpier than before, but thats mainly due to sydney roads & how crap they are, handling is great over stock, not as good as what it can be with a decent set of braces & shocks/or coils.
Atm the wheel alignment seems out a little, i noticed when i flat changed between 2nd & 3rd at 7500rpm last night, the car pulled dangerously to the right so i need to sort out rear camber & wheel alignment, although it might have had something to do with the road itself cause that never happens to me on the freeway.
i think at the end of the day you can get away with a decent spring/shock combo for around $1400 for the DC5 whereas with coils your looking at spedning around the $2,500+ mark & guaranteed your ride wont be as comfy;/
