Prashy, as some of the individuals have already expressed, it is quite subjective. However if your asking for an objective perspective, I believe a good article to read would be http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-09...t/viewall.html. In regards to design likeness, you'll get mixed opinions as everyone is different. When you have selected the design you like with correct application in mind. Post up a question here if your unsure about fitment issues. I hope this has helped.

Can anyone tell me what kind of tyres I should be after if I'm purchasing a set of wheels for a DC5? Wheels are 17x8 5x114.3 ET45/48 and cars lowered on Koni shocks and Eibach springs, about 1inch front and 2inch back I believe. Cheers

On that size wheel I'd go for a 225/45R17. Nearly stock diameter and that size fits nicely on an 8" wide wheel. If you want a bulgy looking tyre then you could go for a 245/40R17 but I wouldn't recommend it.

Thoughts on 18x8.5 +40 on a DC5 with rolled guards ? Will they fit and what tyre sizes do you recommend ?

All up I'm thinking of getting my wheels and tyres from USA
Wheels: 4 x 17x8 5x114.3 ET45/48
Tires: Kumho KU25 or KU21 & 225/45R17

Sound good?

Just get KU31s locally man. They're better tyres and sydney has cheap as prices (roughly $115/ea f&b for 225/45), then you don't have to have them fitted and pay the shitload for shipping.

Cheers brother, will just do that and have them fitted/balanced locally too.

Are Kumho KU31's good tyres? I've got no idea how to tell - I have Pirellis on my stockies at the moment and even after 2 1/2 years I've still probably got 70% tread, I drive often but not always far.

KU31 is definetely the most bang for buck tyre in my opinion. I've yet to find another tyre that is cheap but isn't junk. To get anything better you'd be paying close to double.

Never have to worry about treadwear, very possible the tyre will show signs of aging before the tread is gone

Thanks PENUT, I did search through some reviews (great to see they're from all over the world) but the Pirelli's seem to be on par with the Kumho's but I might just give Kumho's a try.

FYI 16x8 +32 advan rg with 225/45 fit a dc2. Let you know how 225/50 fit shortly.

Oem lugs won't sit correctly. Either buy seats for them or aftermarket lugs mate

Oem nuts for oem wheels.
Aftermarket lugs for aftermarket wheels.

Don't mix and match cos they're diff taper/seat. (Basically the shape of the tip from the lug won't match the wheel if you mix and match)

Also make sure you buy the correct size! 12x1.5 and also try get steel ones if you can. I have had bad experiences with aluminium ones as they can break easy.

Cheers guys! I asked where I was looking at some wheels and they've said they can include them with the wheels free of charge and my colour of choice - I don't need anything special do I? They've been helpful so far making sure everything will fit correctly.
