this is the way to go...

but factor in fitting costs too? or are you cool to DIY with your own tools?

some of us here can talk ya through it, but changing the exhaust manifold is a big job as it sits between the firewall and the engine...

bear in mind if you get aftermarket headers, you will also need to change the front swaybar (~250 fitted)

i also have a base dc5 2004, and a injen CAI is brilliant - louds louder, throttle response is a bit better too.

Just make sure if you go with the injen, get the right model for your car, coz the dc5r/s cai wont fit the engine bay of a base model dc5 - trust me, i've tried.

Find a set of 2nd hand EP3 CTR headers & bang on a stock Type S cat back or JDM aftermarket system.
+ Fly & clutch as mentioned previously.

being a previous owner of a base dc5 i agree with TODA AU

but is the manual or auto?

if it's manual, then i'd do clutch and flywheel first, then intake (cai) then exhaust.

I went mostly the suspension way on my base
i did mugen suspension, front rear sway bars (26.5mm front 22mm rear), front and rear strut bars, rear tie bar
then had injen cai, australian type R header and cat with Fujitsubo Powergetter exhaust.
And most importantly, get good rubber!

after all that I still wasn't satisfied, so i sold it and bought a TypeS...lol
