its just coz of the stupid noise regulations. 95db at 45% power i believe... any1 can confirm this?

rite now in terms of price vs bling, toda looks best. cheapest gud looking exhaust of the lot. does any1 know the sound level for this? wasnt in the exhaust on youtube.

Honestly....best to go to a JDMST or OH meet and see all the exhausts for yourself.....you will have a better idea then!

I believe its at a certain RPM. but dont quote me on it.

someone once told me that when testing type R's, the true noise reading doesnt get measured because the rev limiter engages before vtec when not in gear.

I dont think you will find much out on an OH meet, a lot more civics and accords there than type R's.

All of those exhausts will fail an RTA dB test. If you're that worried about being "road legal" keep it stock. The truth of the matter is that any aftermarket exhaust is too loud for the very strict RTA road rules.

I dunno, i would be surprised if my mugen twin loop would fail. its really not loud at all... :/

Have you measured with a dB tester or are you speculating? 95dB really isn't that loud for a car. Especially considering the DC5 doesn't have a very restrictive exhaust even in stock form.

DB tests are done at a certain RPM which is determined as a percentage of peak power. In Victoria, I think the tests are conducted at 75% of peak power, so for a DC5R: 3/4 x 7400 = 5550rpms. On the stock ECU, the stationary cutout occurs at 6000rpms, so there is no issue with rpm cutouts when DB testing.

NB. In Victoria, there is no guideline for the DC5R Integra so tests are conducted at the default (for cars that don't have a defined RPM in the testing handbook) 4000rpms.

m0nty says the stock exhaust isn't that restrictive so why not say toda headers with the stock catback?

i had that setup before (type-s stock catback with toda headers) and was actually a very good combination imo..

retains the torque down low with siginificant improvents mid-range to top end.

im facing a dilemma... love the looks and sound of the js racing but then dont wanna get busted by cops for noise as well.

2nd option is toda... (or if even more drastic mugen.. )

now have to wait till dollar rates get back up...

I think Leo might still have a 60RS in stock. You may not have to wait for the AUD to climb again.
