      im from new zealand.. its just like a puff of black smoke when i floor it and rev through vtec. my friend noticed when TRYING to catch me in his holden clubsport lol

        Don't worry about it. It is just the JDM smokescreen function working at its best.

          if its only a puff and your not burning through oil at a excessive rate it sounds pretty normal.

          but if you can completely envelope the car behind you in smoke thats could be a issue

            Sounds normal mate -- The engine compensates through the ECU to ensure that the engine doesn't lean out when engaging vtec lobe / profile (as far as I understand without going into the nitty grittys)

            If power isn't down and fuel economy is 'ok' and the smoke isn't blue/white then keep on driving.

              my engine would have a black smokey discharge also because of the replacemnet thermostat / thermoswitch. engine runiing in warm up mode more fuel running rich more power
