Sorry for the late reply, dc5r is completely stock, but dc2r was tuned.

I think the standard dc2r uses around 10L per 100km and by the looks of it there seem to be a number of tuned ones still around that number.

Of course, I second Tinker's statement its the tuner not the ECU.

airflow improvements lean out mixture to improve fuel economy (until the ECU "learns" the leanness and compenstates for it making the car run richer after a short time)

The reason I can only get 400KM on a full tank is because I drive 3.5km each way to/from work. I get massively owned on fuel economy because my engine is still very cold when I get home / get to the office.

Stock standard - average around 480-490km filling up about 38-40ltrs. Don't drive it hard very often, probably only VTEC once a tank! if that?! I think I didn't VTEC it the last time I filled up, I got 520km, indicator was a little before the E and light never came on. But I only run 95 ron.

Yeah, I do have fuel allowance, plus I sometimes have to drive to other places for business as well.

                          YAY!

Just filled up a full tank of bp ultimate tonight @ 122.9c/L. Filled up 44.47L which had taken me a total of 497.8km. That works out to be about 8.9L/100km. This is with normal street driving (non-granny style) and a night of spirited.

I still wonder though, my petrol needle was basically ON the red line. I filled up 44.47L. Are our tanks 45L or 50L?

Some say 45L, some say 50L. Is anyone certain?

                          Thanks

50L is for GSi and Vti-r as the broucher states, but Type Rs have a 45L tank for weight saving.
