Front Wheel Bearing... how can you tell? how much? and where?

oh man!! finally after months of hearing that whirring sound... it is now gone! went to hanny's today and they replaced it for me... it only took two hours, but one hour of that was waiting for the part to be delivered. man the tools they used to get it off! i'm glad i didn't try to do it myself...

got my car serviced at the same time, then went home and washed, claybarred, polished, and vacuumed my car!

ive got the same probelm right now, but im having difficulty determining whether it is being solely caused by the R888's (i dont have street tyres) or if the front left wheel bearing is also shot... i always thought trying to move the wheel from side to side, or up and down while sitting in front of it while its jacked up (as if you are taking it off the hub) and play was evident, that the bearings were shot...
