          abnormalities...

it should sound like water rushing through a pipe...

not a bunch of dirt and rocks flowing through a pipe!

how easy is it really to DIY?
i got a quote and if the koyo bearing is only about $60, then labour must be heaps!

what tools would i need to do it myself?

and anyone know the koyo part number i need?

unless someone is willing to help me out? i'm free wednesday week, 2nd July...

I still find it crazy that they actually brake tested your car..

The place i go to hardly even looks at my car..

you need a press, and sometimes an oxy.

this sort of job i would charge money to help you, on it is THAT big!!!

PS - i habve a 6 ton press you can borrow, i used it last time i did a wheel bearing... (plus heaps of other tools i hope i never have to use again!)

buy the bearing, then pay a workshop. simple. painless. expensive.

well hanny's is willing to help me out and i thought coz u guys said the bearing costs about $60 that they're charging me a fair bit for labour (more than bearing)... but if you say its a big job, then may as well get them to do it...

                        i don't even have a press...

btw dave... how much are you going to charge me hypothetically?

How much did they quote you?

hanny's quoted me about $200-220 supplied and fitted... is that worth it? peter said should only take them about an hour or two to finish...

asked him how much the part was and he said about $120-150 if you do the calculations, the labour is about $80-100

i called a koyo supplier who said the only place he saw the part for my car is in melbourne, but he wasn't even sure if it was the right one and what it included... he was charging about $97 for the part...

so i can take a chance and get half what i need or the wrong part and go for cheaper and supply it to hanny's... or i can just get hanny's to supply and fit it for me... peter sounded confident he could get me the part in one hour on the day i go there and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about...
