I will share with you my experience which I stress has been 100% circuit racing in my DC5 race car
therefore this is worse case and not daily driver experience.
I have had ongoing trouble with many brands of gearbox oils breaking down due to heat stress.
The two things that fixed the gear change issues in my race car were:
1. Fitted gearbox oil cooler (Mugen)
2. Fit latest Carbon syncros as now supplied by Honda.
I am now using Penrite Sin75 as this has now finished 2 x Bathurst 12 hour races and when I drain it after it is crystal clear.
I am sure any of the other oils mentioned previously will work with this combination also.
I finally came to realise that Mugen produce a Gearbox oil cooler kit specifically for the DC5 for a reason.
Need I say more!Attached FilesLast edited by Integral; 17-04-08, 06:12 PM.

Changing the syncros, is it expensive job?
