But in all seriousness to get back on the topic..
if your so worried about your gearbox dying because of redline gearbox oil.. and not trusting what tinks and me had to say about particular oils.. STICK TO OEM MTF!..
or just use all OEM stuff..
some oils manufacturers get OEM approval or just "industrial Classification" which pretty much meens it meets minimum standards or something like that..
as far as i can tell Motul engine oils are OEM approved for mostly European car manufacturers and i dont remember seeing honda on the list..Memorable quotes

My mate with SR20DET had a notchy box put the stuff in was awsome for 2 weeks then it got worse. he had to clean his box with shit it left in it like goo!! He said he would never use it again -over rated- over priced.
now i dont have anyissues with my box I keep it clean with fresh oil every 5k MTF06. I want my box to last so i want to put the best shit possible in it.Nankangs, Better than Your-Mums-Cans

a worn gearbox will only wear faster over time..
weather it be Redline or mOtul or OEM it will still continue to wear. (there is No magical gearbox oil that will repair broken gearboxes, although some people think OEM mtf is this magical gearbox oil)
for all you know it was the oil prior to him changing it that caused the problems.. ?
and to top that off.. Redline Gearbox oil eventhough its my 2nd favorite gearbox oil thus far.. i would say not all Car manufacturer gearboxes like them.. something to do with how the heat transfers into the gear case.. might not warm it up enough or warms it up to much..Memorable quotes

My mates box was in fairly good order new gears 1,2,3 i think and after the oil change( Motul gear 300) it was sweet. no notchyness and 10k sofar.Nankangs, Better than Your-Mums-Cans

Seriously though, unless the incentive to try some exotic oil is greater than the cost of a gearbox rebuild I would stick with Honda MTF.
EL_DC5 do you track a lot? I change my OEM MTF every 1 or 2 track days or 5000kms whichever comes first and my gearbox is still quite okay after a fair bit of abuse. I will say however that the Honda MTF does seem to deteriorate with hard use so if you are thinking of doing more than a couple of track days on one fill of MTF it might be worth considering other options. Have you considered AMSOIL?
