ha ha, painful task if its a DC5...

Take off the large panel around the handbrake.

For a good guide, google BuddyClub short shifter install.

There should be an adjuster at the back of the ratchet.

Go to a Honda dealer and they will jack you for the money and not do it because they are soo lazy, then tell you that they adjusted it as far as it will go.

Its a bitch, seriously, I hate doing it because there are so many interior panel clips that can break and so many things you can scratch.

Do it then get drunk to ease the stress lol

do not over tighten the handbrake cable. Some noob who had the car b4 me over tightened it and has screwed my rear brakes (the spring that engages/disengages rear brakes is stretched and it grabs until the rear pads are warn down 1m or so)

so yer, check your rear pads if there is much pad left....

            1. Pull off hand brake centre cover
            2. You will see two parallel cables running to the rear of the handbrake with an adjustable bolt
            3. Apply hand brake very slightly (only one click)
            4. Jack up rear wheels (but place bricks or wedge something to stop the car rolling forward)
            5. Spin either wheel (in your case there will be little resistance even with the hand brake up).
            6. Adjust bolt by screwing clockwise (off memory) and try spinning the wheels. Keep adjusting until there is resistance to the wheel spinning.
            7. Apply hand brake as you usually would
            8. Try spinning the wheels again & they shouldn't budge.
            9. Grab a beer.
