    Hi ksl,

maybe check with the importer? http://www.redlineoil.com.au/contact-us.asp

here are the details of the oil: http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=46&pcid=7

if you have a notchy second gear, maybe there is a more serious problem?

I use Redline MTL. Put it in 12 months ago and have been to 2 track days with it and its still in the car. Gear changing is perfectly fine and i dont have any issues at all. Not even shifting into 2nd gear.

It's expensive, next time i might just go back to MTF

the KEY i think to using it is to have a dry 'box, not to let it mix with ANY other oil.

i think people might just drain their gearbox, then add this blue stuff, then run into issues... i.e. they leave 100ml or so of old MTF (or whatever) that does not mix well with the blue stuff...
any tips on emptying a gearbox totally without removing it?

yeah, same way you get rid of 92 octane out of your petrol tank when it is supposed to have 98 octane.

use up the tank of 92, refill with 98, use up that tank of 98, refill with 98 and you are gonna be pretty close to having all 98 in there...

i.e. you have to drain the old 'oil' and refill with the new fluid then run it for a few hundred or so km, then drain it and refill again...

BTW - it is just my theory as to why some people have issues with the shockproof oils...

Agree. About $35 per litre. DC5R 6 speed will only need 2 bottles.

Had 3rd gear pop out and grinding problems with my DC5-S. Followed some friend's advice to swap out the tranny fluid with AMSOIL since I had nothing really to lose and just wanted to get this problem solved already. 10k later no pop out issues.

AMSOIL Synchromesh MTF. Top stuff. Anybody know if there's anywhere to buy this around Syd?

get metal shifter bushings to solve it (from strutking). cheaper than a bottle of gear oil and its permanent

which bushings are u talking about?

If its the shifter cable bushings, it makes all forward gears feel solid(doesnt feel as nice as stock), except for reverse, actually struggle getting into reverse... hated it, took them out within a few days.

MTF here, no issues, changing it again this week end. Cheap, good and disposable like FEO engine oil.
