Actually Motul FF-LSD is for clutch style LSD's. Regular 75w90 Motul Gear 300 is fine for DC2 Type R Torsen LSD.

so a "mechanical LSD" = "clutch style LSD"

Yeh Dave, according to Motul mechanical = clutch. I did a bit of research on this earlier in the year when I had groaning noises coming from the transmission. Motul recommended the Gear 300 in 75w90. Apparently the FF one has friction modifiers which Type R LSD doesn't need.

There are some posts on h-t as well about it, can dig them up if you want.

I'm a poo brown ITR owner. Of course you should change the gearbox oil.

Spoon recommends you change it with your engine oil. Dunno if you should do it THAT offen. But it surely isn't bad for your gearbox.
