I'm going to try and get one for the weekend. I don't really have any safe way to get under my car that i can think of so ill just have to hope he is right, its not a massive cost so i don't mind gambling a little.

update with my noise....
went to the mech and he instantly said its the front gearbox bearing... He said the only way to fix it is to eventually get a rebuild/recondition but he said its not a huge fuss atm but just to watch out.
He said its fine to run as its in its very early stage so i'm planning to keep it as it is for now as there is no problem with gear changing or anything like that.

I have seen a few people have had this problem before,
been searching on clubRSX and alot of threads dont about it
Car: 2002 DC5
Noise: 3500RPM -4000RPM weird metal noise,
Cause: I have read that it is a bolt on one of the heat shields that comes loose.
i have taken off the heat shield on the headers and the noise continues.. so im guessing it's the drive shaft heat shield?? or the cat??
anyone solved this problem b4??

Noise: Twisting metal sounds with turning to nearly full lock/full lock when up or down a slope.
Cause: When to investigate and realise that it was actually two things making sounds.
1. While you turn nearly full lock to full lock and go up or down a slope one side of the sway angles up and hits the cat heat shield. I have the white line sway.
Extra info on the white line sway bar is their QC is rather poor. At Tech sports (I seem to be refering to them quite a fair bit these days lol) they actually have a spare Evo cross member where they install the sway bar first as the it can be so bad that it doesn't actually fit.
Solution: Trimmed the heat shield a bit so the sway bar stopped hitting.
1. While you turn nearly full lock to full lock and go up or down a slope the tie rod is actually scrapping the header heat shield. I am currently running a Toda header which comes with its own heat shield.
Solution: Bent the heat shield slightly so the tie rods clears it while I do my turning manoeuvre.Last edited by TeMp; 17-04-10, 11:09 PM.

Car: 2000 DC2R
Noise: 1. Sounds like a worn isb but in its early stages. However i have replaced my isb/ synchros/clutch about a month ago. Same symptoms as a worn isb (noise disappears when clutch is in), but i have no idea what it is.
2. Clicking during braking on the right wheel. Only happens on light braking and its quite faint.
Cause: no idea... any ideas?
