hard to tell - it is the other side of the seal that you need to see if it is undamaged.

but if that was just bumped with a finger, it should be fine.

and it is grease - not silicon

In their opinion, the transmission oil level being slightly overfilled is not something to be alarmed of. Secondly, they noticed there was no oil being released from the breather located near where the shifter mechanisms. Finally, from today's visit the main mechanic has confirmed that the leak is definitely engine oil due to the coloring and scent of it. If I remember correctly, transmission oil has a very repugnant smell - almost like cat pee but this was not the case today.
gearbox fluid has a acrid sweet smell, tastes nicer than engine oil that is for sure!

      but whatever...

if they are sure it is engine oil - then they have made a mistake and need to rectify whatever they did to cause the oil leak.

as the picture clearly shows no oil leak before or immediatly after the RMS installation.

Alrighty, I'll see how it turns out on Thursday. Will keep eyes peeled to inspect the problem.

Really appreciate your help Tinkerbell!! It's been very insightful ahaha.

Quick question before the box gets dropped tomorrow, should the RMS be installed dry or lubricated on the outer edge of the seal?

oil helps, dry does not help (nor should it hinder).

do not use anything else, like RTV sealer...

still hard to believe a brand new Honda seal is leaking.

perhaps good insurance is to buy one from a local Honda Dealer?
