So maybe steer clear of the varex? Yea ive seen shaks. I might actially go for the megapower 70. Can get that for around 800 shipped brand nre
Anyone know were I can get this cheaper? Would it be worth going 76mm? Or is that too big?

if you have 160kW the 70mm is fine.

maybe once passing 180kW ATW you need to consider the 76mm one.

if you dont have anything more than an intake, ECU and headers - the 60mm is perfect.

Ok sounds good. Im looking at getting it shipped from the US. Is there any modification needed to be done to fit the AUDM version? I always have this worry with buying acura parts.

          02-04 acura rsx type s = 02-04 audm type r. The 05-06 type s audm is a different story.

the megapower i think is too loud as a daily. I had the buddyclub spec 3 and i could not stand it as a daily. And it is definitely not worth having a very loud exhaust. Especially now cops are everywhere. I've been there and done that. Not worth the risk. Get a nice quiet exhaust that has a nice tone and when you open it up it sounds pure porn. Just gonna chuck my 2cents in.

Thats why I wanted the varex so I could change it but thats out of the question. Its between the megapower r or the hks hi power atm just need to find the best price

straight pipes are quiet on idle and fairly loud when revving, even only up to say 2.5rpm lol

however it's cheap. 100 for a custom made one

Having a straight through on the streets is really risky. I had a J's Racing 70RR on my DC5R before I sold it, got alot of cop attention and have been pulled over but luckily they didnt do me for it.

I will recommend something like Fujitsubo Power Getter or even the J's Racing 60RS is good enough and loud enough. Even now at the track, they are starting to become strict about noise levels.

                      They definitely are everywhere now

On the way to work i saw a HWP sneaking around back streets, not 3 blocks from my house. Mind you these are entirely residential non thoroughfare roads. I was thinking wtf are the dickheads doing here. If i had taken my car to work i would have never made it past 3 blocks from my house

i had a varex with a custom 2.5 inch on my old car. cost 600$ (450 for the muffler, 150 for the piping and work)
then installed a high flow cat which cost another 300$
back then i ddnt really know about the proper brand names like spoon, amuse, buddyclub and what not. my experience and verdict on the varex.. RIP OFF! the butterfly motor got blown on me twice meaning i couldnt change the tone until i got it fixed. if you dont have a amp in your car, your going to be stuck with having wires from your boot all the way to your charger port next to the cup holders! cops will know if its a varex or not as there is a noticeable motor that controls the butterfly on the top of the muffler. and the most important thing, in my opinion.. it sounds like shit! if i was as knowladgble back then as iam now. i wouldv rather spent the $900 on a proper branded exhaust where the b-pipe and the muffler are sold together as a single piece, and that has been proven to gain power.

Thanks heaps guys, from reading all the reviews on the varex and straight pipes, its kinda turned me off them. theres isnt a huge difference in price I guess so I think ill go for a brand name. Im really liking the sound of the HKS HI power 65mm. It sounds nice and deep. I just need to find somewhere to get it for a good price. There only really sold in the US and for some reason most shipping charged are just as much as the exhaust. Anyone know where I can get this exhaust for under 1k?
