If you're going to do it yourself, make sure you can get the fill bolt off first for two main reasons.

    a) You might be able to get the drain bolt off but not the fill bolt then you'll be stuck with no transmission oil in your car once you've drained it. So make sure that you can get that off first!

    b) It will also help with draining the transmission. Same as removing your oil cap when you drain engine oil.

Also get a funnel and tubing and zip ties. Helps even more if you have a cai/sri as there is no airbox in the way

Dam this just messed my head up ! Cant you fill up through the dip stick as I've seen on other threads ?
And with the fill/drain bolts, do I losen them up before jacking up the car to ensure the gearbox is empty for long ?

Try and keep your car completely level for the fill and drain. That way you know for sure that it is full. Especially when you only have the fronts jacked up, its bad!

No dipstick hence, the need for a fill plug at the bottom of the transmission next to the drain plug.

You can just support the car with a hydraulic jack at standard height on a level surface... take off the passenger wheel, chuck it under the rotor for safety and maybe use a few phonebooks in random places for safety too...

Then undo the plugs, drain, use a funnel and clear tube from the engine bay to fill up. Once fluid starts leaking from the filler hole, return the filler bolt. Put the car back together. Drive a few thousand ks. Repeat.

You need two hydraulic jacks for this method. One set at factory height one to jack up the car to get the wheel on and off.

To simplify it, throw a jack under the car and set it to whatever height your car is at. Then grab another, jack up the car and remove the wheel then lower the car back onto the first jack.

fill plug is a 17mm or 19mm (pretty sure 17mm). If you pull the airbox out you can get access to it from the engine bay
