Haltech Platinum Pro!

Hey all!

Some questions for you all...

I'm considering running a Haltech Platinum Pro on my 04 facelift type s. (Our AUDM DC5S is the same as the USDM 05-06 Type S - both run the K20z motor)

Let's say I blow my motor... will I be able to run the Haltech if I chose to drop in a K24 or a K20/24 Frank with the K20Z harness?

To my understanding, the honda wideband is not supported, though it can operate as a narrowband... is it recommended that I get an aftermarket wideband?

What sort of inputs and outputs are available for the haltech? Can I hook up any guages or a computer display to monitor the motor?

How does haltech handle an all out build? Built bottom and top end, boost/supercharger etc?

At the very least they're going to probably give you a universal harness which you wire to your sensors. If you're looking at the plug in series, I doubt there's going to be much support for frank builds because the ecu will be designed as a plug and play for the k20z1 harness. It's looking like a custom wiring job if you want it done right.

Yeah I fear that. But then again wouldn't it be thesame as a K Pro'd ECU? Should I go frank build or K24 build... I'd have to retain the type of harness the kpro was mated to? For instance, either a K20A/K20Z harness?

By the way, does anyone know if these things can auto tune based on target AFRs with the use of a proper wideband?... or do I just sound stupid?

Contact a Haltech dealer. Shouldn't be too hard since you're in Melbourne and all.

Auto tuning via target afr is a bit risky as your target afr maybe too rich or lean depending on your mods. There is no "set" afr that is the magic number. It all comes down to what the data is telling the tuner and how they adjust accordingly

Prash, with your haltech, when u reinstalled it, I am guesing you had a green fliashing key on your cluster. What did you personally do to get rid of it?

Interested too. Do you get green flashing light? Or does that go as OEM ECU is not installed?

im guessing the greeen flashing light will appear as the immobiliser is not copatiable with a new ecu.... but guinea pig prash here should know unless he is blind.
