for most intents and purposes, they are the "same engine" sang...
like a B18C2 is the "same engine" as B18C7...
but you are 100% right - there are many internal differences...

ok sure. i get what u mean now. but i just wanted to make sure we weren't misleading people. when the question was asked i took it to question whether the type s had the jdm type r engine. if you're familar with dc5's and the k series, then the difference is important to youalmost JDM spec, y0!
